It's a photographers dream. Yes it's busy and yes people get in the way but It's a an enjoyable half an hour roaming the streets searching for the perfect shot.

A very colourful part of Cape Town to visit. Not too far from the centre. We felt very safe wandering around the streets admiring the colourful houses. If you are travelling by car you can park in the street right in front or nearby the houses. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Go and spend some time there not only to see the houses but also to have a drink, buy some crafts. It is simple but beautiful and interesting from a cultural point of view.

The Bo Kaap area close to the Hilton Cape Town City Centre is great for photos. The colourful houses are beautiful! Stop and walk along the street to take some stunning photographs.

Sure, it's iconic and great to see. But it's hard to get good pictures because other tourists are always walking into your shots, taking their own photos. And it feels a little strange to be walking around taking pictures of people's houses shamelessly, without them directly benefitting. It's a pretty quick activity though, and worth stopping by. Plus a few... More

This is a nice neighborhood to visit and learn about the heritage of the Muslim during the Apartheid. It is a great way to spend 2 hours.

It is a cute place and easy to visit when on the way to other attractions, but don't expect too much. It is only 2 streets with colorful houses.

the old neighborhood, the home of the Malays brought to Capetown 150 years ago as workers, is terrific. They have maintained a vibrant culture here.
