We were taken here by our Taxi Driver, Shaun who we had for the day ($70). He couldn't tell us a lot about it, I've since read up on that. It's not just this street, if you are driving a hire car, go further back into the town itself, it goes back for a long way. Situated at the bottom... More

It is a suburb where the Cape Malays settled in and the houses have all been done up with amazing colured ouses and is quite unique to see.

Just a turn off the main streets of CT just up the street is a historical Cape Malay community with a proud South East Asia history. Don't leave without trying their local curries.

Nothing much that I can rally say about this place. It was just a short walk from where we were staying and I really did not see what was so great about the place .To me it was just a group of brightly painted houses ,not much activity .But then I am no expert on this sort of thing

This is a place quite significant in Cape Town's history, but it's a vibrant colourful suburb or Cape Malay and mostly Muslim people who have preserved a bit of the history. There are a few bands playing and troops of drum majorettes at weekends alone with cafes. It's supposed to be an alcohol are zone but there are a few... More

Bo Kaap is a nice small street with colorful houses all around. It is a muslium community and they are very friendly. You could get really nice pictures for your trip in this area!

Bo-Kaap is one of the must see spots in Cape Town. Originally (and mostly remaining) a Muslim community, the colourful houses and cobble stoned streets are a photographers delight. One word of warning - visit by day while the streets are busy as the area is dangerous after dark.

This is a colourful neighbourhood to wander through. We spent about 40 minutes walking the streets, seeing all the very colourful houses.
