came here after watching a tv documentary. Loved the houses and also the fact that people ate so proud who live there and are more than happy for you to take photos of their homes !

Just a great place to walk around. Colorful is an understatement. A small neighborhood, great restaurants, friendly. Memorable and beautiful.

Cape Town authorities have done a great work in starting to put this area in condition . It is great to walk there and admire the colorful buildings and beautiful flowers outside the houses. A tip: wear comfortable shoes.

Apparently these were the houses of former slaves who decorated them with bright colours as they were only permitted to wear drab clothing when enslaved. A new photo opportunity lies around every corner

Would suggest that a take a slow drive through the neighbourhood first. Then you park at Wale Street and take some pics nearby of the picturesque homes.
