If you are a student visit Table Mountain on Friday. They have a student discount on fridays and the price is then 50% of the normal price. You cannot purchase the discount tickets online, you have to queue to the ticket office. Be there in the early morning or after 2pm. We went there in noon and the line was... More

We arrived late afternoon at the aerial cableway and there was luckily a very small queue for tickets, we purchased two return tickets and proceeded up the mountain. The journey up takes a couple of minutes and the views were amazing. At the top it was quite busy and seemed quite commercialised unfortunately. There are a number of walks around... More

A lot of people don't know this, but cable car is free on your birthday if you're a South African citizen. It's a return trip, only valid on that day. Also, if the Cableway is closed, you can still go to the ticket office on the day of your birthday and produce your ID, and they will give you a... More

Very very touristic at the cableway, but as soon as you get to the top you can just walk along the mountaintop and "get away". DO NOT go on days with wind or rain, can be dangerous

Good grief you can see the steep steps from the cable car, unless you are part mountain goat, training for an iron man, or having a midlife crisis, don't take them. Take the cable car. It's got ace views. It rotates so everyone gets a good view. The conductor is witty. A pleasure.

Knowing the cableway since 2000, we´ve been up there several times - this time it was really special, because it was warm up there and no (!) wind - fabulous sunset!

Not the cheapest attraction but the views are well worth the price. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Cape a town.

Early in the morning or at Sunset is an ideal time to visit the mountain. During peak season you must be prepared to wait in a queue. There are 2 queues, one if you have booked on the internet and have tickets and one where you still have to purchase tickets. If you have tickets you get preferential entrance. Be... More
