Its a busy street with shops and restaurants. Most are pubs/bars though and we didn't feel they would be very good for dinner.

There are many interesting shops and restaurants on this street, and in the surrounding area. An easy place to spend half a day.

Long street is African whereas Bree street is not really. I like both, but they are different. Long street has a great vibe and nice eateries...a good night out on the street feeling.

If you are in Long Street to shop...remember the nature of the shop and stall owners is to try and get you to purchase their goods. They will approach you and they will bargain with you....I found they did so in a polite and non...More

Loved going in and out of the shops, stores and restaurants along this street. Didn't go partying but the area has everything that a vacationer would enjoy.

We dedicated most of a day to walking it and buying souvenirs and enjoyed it tremendously. Lots of good shops and a good hike between Greenmarket Square and the end near the Mt. Nelson Hotel.

There are historical buildings to be seen. Places to shop, but beware when you go in you will be approached by the vendors trying to make sales. They have many African wares to sell and want to bargain. I saw the night clubs, but did...More

This street had a some wonderful food and shops. Please note that there are many homeless people and beggars on every block so if you are someone that is freaked out by this just take a taxi or Uber straight to your destination.

Lots of people on the street but nothing really to see & nothing to experience. Could be almost any rundown downtown in an otherwise nice city. Unsafe feeling, full of hustlers & panhandlers.

Great place to get a hang-over. Lots of bars and eateries each rather unique. Lots of places with DJ or live music

General rule of thumb, everything in CT closes at 7/8pm unless in the Waterfront. But long street bars and clubs are open till late.

Also agree with TravelfeetZA : i won't do shopping on this street. Keep a one hour walking to visit it and then have diner somewhere and some bar music. That's it! There is nothing special on this street for shopping.
