I always take visitors to Rhodes Memorial. When I first arrived in SA in 1972 my dad took me here. There were boks in those days so tame that used to eat from our hands. On a clear day you can see both False and Table bay. Lovely quaint restaurant behind the memorial which is worth a visit.

Normally have a group of fussy eaters but there was something for everyone here. Food was simple but delicious. Attentive service even though it was very busy. Amazing views! Toilets not great but staff were quick to remedy when missing soap and toilet paper were reported. Kids loved the playground. Very peaceful and a great sense of being away from... More

Head early in the morning or late in the afternoon to enjoy superb views over the Town. Other than than not much to do. A notable omission is a plaque explaining Rhodes' tortured place in South Africa's history, for better and for worse! Nothing at all is said or mentioned!

A well kept place. Quiet and peaceful as one reflects on the years gone by. Looking up and forward for today. The view is awesome. For me, looking out to the horizon one can only dream big. Worth a visit.

Its not usually very busy and you can picnic up here, take a short hike or even sit down at the restaurant behind the memorial. Also a great place for photo shoots.

This is not a "must see", but if you're passing or nearby, it's worth a look at the memorial, and the views. It's a little off the beaten track, a bit isolated, and slightly neglected. But if this is the kind of thing you like, then go for it. Personally, I was underwhelmed!

We celebrated my daughters 13th birthday with an afternoon tea at the restaurant. Our numbers had increased last minute and I was only able to notify them on arrival. I was dreading a "Well you should have let us know sooner," speech when I received the opposite instead. The management and staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful. They had thought... More

Mr Rhodes did so much for Southern Africa , it nice to see him remembered , every where you go in Cape town you have reminders of his impact on the region , shame he died so young!

Enjoyed this monument while in a private tour. The view was great but the place seemed a little neglected.
