I've often driven past this building but have actually never taken the time to go inside. My eldest daughter had been there with her school and had nagged that we go there, so today did just that. The outside of the building is rather nondescript,...More

We could easily have spent half a day here if not longer! There are a huge selection of science based experiences for children and parents to enjoy. It is fascinating and such fun. There is a cafe with internet stations too. We took part in...More

Affordable science center with lots of interactive exhibits. A few are broken but the majority are great fun. lots for little kids to interact with, but also more complex ideas for older kids. They had gyro's for R10 a try and workshops and talks. Really...More

This is a gem hidden in Cape Town. It is for young kids ( say less than 10 years old but even 13-14 year olds will find it engaging). Dozens of exhibits showcase interesting science. They have been maintained well also. The staff is knowledgeable...More

Our girls age 8 and 10 loved this center so much! They tried all sorts of experiments, the workshops, puzzles and games. We as parents had so much fun too, and I was wowed by some of the things I learned! Great day out!

What an embarrassment ... leaking roof, old broken exhibits, a truly third world budget affair. What a far cry from its MTN days at Canal Walk.

We had a quiet afternoon in Mowbray to fill and this was nearby - it was well worth visiting. There are a lot of exhibits to view with little that's 'done for' participants. Instead there are puzzles and activities. The accompanying café is simple and...More

Cape Town in July is rainy, so we decided to take our 8 and 9 year old to the science Centre, together with grandma. It has a rather tired exterior, but as we started exploring the different activities, we found ourselves carried away- the adults...More

Always a blast exposing kids to some of the scientific theories, experiments and awesome world knowledge out there. The Murray&Roberts building area has always been a firm favourite for my kids. Plenty to go through for both old and young. Building the Science Centre is...More

Let's be honest here. If you rated this as a place to take your children, something is definitely wrong. Found the place unsafe and unhygienic. One corner under construction and some displays just empty.....standing there for no reason. Clearly to fill up the space I...More
