Though the beach is still popular, the elegant splendor that once graced this seaside resort community barely shows through the paved-over streets, fast-food eateries and shopping centers.

Friendly, clean and reliable beach, but get there early in the morning to avoid the crowds and stay away when the South-Easter is blowing.

We loved Muizenberg beach and its beach huts. Really gorgeous but on a windy day you get a bit stung by the wind blowing the sand!

We enjoyed watching the surfers mount the waves. Our children also had fun searching for shells during low tide. It's nearby a catwalk/trail that goes to Saint James and leads to Kalk Bay, which is a quaint little village.

Lovely beach to sunbathe or sit and relax. Eating places nearby, parking is good. Lots of room for people, wasn't too busy when we visited, but it was quite chilly so more people walking about.
