Myself and a friend recently stayed in Hout Bay for ten days and we think we made a brilliant choice. For starters the natural surroundings are spectacular with the beautiful moutains and sea. The beach was a lovely place to be especially during the evenings...More

Hout Bay used to be beautiful, natural, peaceful and a must do and see for any visitor, but those days are gone. What is now a reality is an endless stream of unemployed beggars and 'help me - family of many to feed' board waiting...More

Hout Bay is a small little town with not so much to do but so many enjoyable sights and the best Fish and chips in the world! just be careful! The sea gulls can snap your food in a second.

All of cape towns beaches are bays are spectacular but Hout Bay was a highlight. The market as well as getting to pet a seal was really exciting and fun.

Lovely seaside experience with plenty of sea gulls and even seals swimming in the bay. Pleanty of small fish shops selling fresh catch and restaurants selling freshly caught and prepared snoek. You can take a boat trip that's about 40 minutes in total to seal...More

This is a really stunning Bay. The scenic road that takes you along the Cape Peninsula, past Hout Bay, gives stunning views across the bay.

Visited here as a fort remain is here. Not much remains. You need some imagination to enjoy the site to see how the fort was there. The fort should have been protesting the bay. The scenery is not bad, but there are many other sites...More

Sad to see how this little rustic and historic town is going to ruins. The squatters now occupy more land than paying residents and wondering around everywhere. Was very sad to see (and hear others confirm) how this place deteriorated, in just 5 short years.

Driver took us south on the penisula to Hout Bay. We had views from all sides. One view looks like a rhino. Interesting market and brewery

Hi. Hout's Bay is some kind of village by the sea. You will definitely then need a car to go to the waterfront and back.
