Last week while visiting Cape Town I happened upon the Shimansky Diamond museum. With no real familiarity of jewelry or stones, just a love for natures beauty, I decided to take a detour from my day and do the museum tour. This should definitely be on any list of activities to do in Cape Town! The history and information provided truly changed my perception of jewelry. My family and I had the pleasure of touring the diamond museum, guided by Zukiswa Mbuyah. She had a wealth of information at her disposal and made the entire process especially engaging. We had a wonderful time and she did an impeccable job answering all of our questions. I have such a newfound respect for the process and the specialists who painstakingly train and labor to create what we see in the stores. 10/10 would recommend!

Did not expect the diamond museum to be so informative. Adele was very informative and friendly. Learned a great deal about diamonds and was impressed with Shimansky's mining of Tanzanite and giving back to the community. We were not pressured to buy anything. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Janine went out of her way to make the whole experience for my wife and myself a memorable one. She kept us updated constantly and arrange everything to perfection. She even came in on her off day to do the handing over of the earrings and rings to my wife with champagne and photos. I have dealt with Janine on more than one occasion and her service is always amazing. Janine is a asset to the company and will always continue dealing with her. Thanks a million once again Janine.

Really good value tour round the museum, with my guide Shamie. Very informative, friendly, and I learned a lot about how diamonds were formed, cut and polished. Very good value for money., at 200 rand. No pressure to buy. Excellent in every way

I have to write about the extraordinary customer service I received at Shimansky Cape Town from Cindy Rudolph. I went into the store on a stop during a tour of the Cape Town area with Touch Down Travel and had no intention of buying anything - I just wanted to go on the tour and look at some of the products. Well, I found a tanzanite ring that I really liked and decided to find out more about acquiring it. Cindy assisted me and was very patient and helpful and arranged to have the ring resized to fit my finger. It was going to take a week to do the work, and I only had a brief window of time - less than 18 hours - when I would return to Cape Town before flying onto my next destination. Cindy offered to deliver the ring to me at my Airport Hotel on a Saturday night, before my Sunday morning departure from South Africa. She made the extra effort to make sure that I got the ring in a safe environment and that I was satisfied and understood how to apply for the VAT refund, and I really appreciate it! And, I love the ring and am really glad that I got it!

We had the best tour of beautiful beautiful diamonds and perfectly crafted rings! Aloma was our guide and went out of her way to accommodate our requests and provide us with many insights into the Shimansky world! Such a perfect experience! Thank you so much!

Firstly special thanks to Arlando for amazing service. Shimansky has a nice museum with lots of history & details. We can also see the experts cutting/ polishing the diamonds. The collection in the shop is also very nice. Marlene Naidoo supported us & was very knowledgable. They have certain patented styles, not seen elsewhere. Price seems to be slightly on the higher side with very little discount, but high quality compensates for it. The walk to Clock tower across waterfront is also very nice. Must visit if you have some time.

We went to Shimansky Jewelers as part of our tour of Cape Town with Gate 1 travel. What a wonderful place. They gave us a lesson in the early years of the diamond rush in South Africa. We were able to see men cutting and polishing diamonds and others making very intricate jewelry pieces. Then they took us to a showroom and were very very informative and patient as we looked, admired and chose tanzanite and diamond pieces. My salesperson was Tanya. She was very personable and helpful. I bought a lovely ring and it needed to be resized. They rushed the adjustment because I was leaving Cape Town and even delivered it to my hotel room. I was so impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of all staff. I would definitely resend a visit even if you don’t intend to make a purchase .
