We camped at Bakgatla with its exceptionally friendly staff. We drove early in the morning through Pilanesberg Park to Sun City and returned again in the afternoon, with plenty game sightings. The tar roads are in a poor state, but one can negate it with a sedan, and the gravel roads were reasonably good. We especially enjoyed stopping and viewing... More

Pilansesberg has been my go to safari camp during my 4 year stay in Joburg when i had visitors. You won't get the same experience as like in a Kenya Safari with massive animals, but you can possibly see the "Big Five"!

I love nature and I did went visit Pilanesburg Nature Reserve and I was thrilled to see some of the beautiful wild animals, I was interested to see leopard for the day but wasn't lucky to see it. You will thoroughly enjoy the park's rich and abundant wildlife. The lake in the middle is a must visit and a very peaceful place. Drive slowly and courteously and plan... More

2 hour drive from Johannesburg, the park is easily accessible. We paid for a 3 hour guided tour but plenty of people had their own car driving through the park. The arranged tours are able to access the park slightly earlier than the public. The scenery in the park is outstanding, lots of wildlife. Great for a day out if... More
