Probably one of the best views to see in a life time. Relax, breathe and enjoy the nature's creation.

As you take the panoramic trip back to Johannesburg, be sure and stop and soak up the views of the canyon. Think of the Grand canyon with trees. I believe this is the third biggest canyon in the world and the largest "green" canyon, so...More

We stayed at the Blyde River Forever Resort and took the opportunity to view the Nature Reserve from both the lower and upper viewpoints. The view from the upper viewpoint is absolutely breathtaking - and also dangerous due to the sheer drop from the rock...More

We stopped here on a driving tour along the Panorama Route. The canyon is a must see attraction whilst in this part of South Africa. The views are amazing.

It is very difficult to appreciate the depth of the canyon because there is nothing in the bottom from which to judge the distance but it is fantastic! The scenery is really 360 degrees and my photos do not do it justice.

After having completed the rest of the panorama route this was our last stop. Having driven through clouds and rain we came to the top and found ourselves a beautiful sunny day. The view of the Three Rondawels was the highlight of the day. Moving...More

The Leopard Trail combines some of the best sights in the Panorama region into one. Take in majestic views of the Three Rondavels, the Blyde River and Dam, as well as Mariepskop. The trail is a four hour hike and only those... More
Hi, we will have one day starting from the Protea Hotel Kruger Gate, Sabie River just west of Skukuza, to do a self-drive of the Blyde River Canyon and the Panorama Route, ending that day in Nelspruit. When I type Blyde River Canyon into Google Maps, it brings up a location in the Blyde River Nature Reserve that involves driving North on the R40 then west along a local road, this takes over 2 hours and is 116km from the Protea Hotel Kruger Gate, the problem is that you then have to back track on the same route to get to the various sights you mention and although the location is closer to Leroro-A on the R352, it is not possible to access from there. Should I disregard this location and just stick to the ones you list? Thank you, Kev.

We are spending two nights in the Blyde River Canyon area......yet to confirm where. How should we allocate time? A thought is: afternoon day of arrival having a 10 Km hike in the canyon and the full next day looking down into the canyon along the panarama route. Does this sound like a feasible plan? Where should we stay to have best access and minimise travel time? Thanks
