    Unexpected delight
We picked this for a stopping area on the way to Albuquerque for the Annular Eclipse because of the lake. We were a bit disappointed that there were not boats to rent, at least that we could find. On the other hand, there was a real version of London Bridge, picked up and moved piece by piece to this location. The Holiday Inn Express we stayed at was an optimal location to visit the Bridge. At night they light it up with purple lights: very pretty.

An iconic symbol of history and architectural brilliance, stands proudly over the River Thames, weaving tales of centuries gone by. Having recently visited this timeless marvel, I am compelled to share the awe-inspiring experience that awaits those who venture to explore its grandeur. From the moment you set eyes on London Bridge, its commanding presence leaves an indelible impression. The current structure, completed in 1973, is a modern incarnation that pays homage to its predecessors while seamlessly blending with the contemporary skyline. The clean lines and elegant simplicity of the design showcase the bridge's commitment to both form and function. Crossing the bridge offers a panoramic view of the Thames River and the city beyond, providing a picturesque vantage point for capturing the essence of London. The juxtaposition of historic landmarks and modern architecture creates a visual tapestry that reflects the city's rich and diverse history. Beneath the surface, the bridge conceals a treasure trove of stories. Visitors can delve into the history of its predecessors, each with its own unique narrative. The medieval bridge, immortalized in the famous nursery rhyme, and its successor, the Victorian-era bridge, have all played integral roles in shaping London's identity.

    Tastefully Done
It's iconic, it's London Bridge. A great job has been done in integrating a piece of England into the desert 5000 miles away, init is almost seamless. Not too sure about the English Village built around it. It smacks of an area someone thought represented England but never actually visited. It was 100 degrees the day we visited though so very un-English weather. This attraction is definitely worth a visit, but it is slightly odd that an area of bars and restaurants chooses to close at 9.30pm when the night is still young. Now that is not typical England!

    London Bridge Isn't Falling Down
This stop was not on our itinerary but after seeing the road sign for it we decided to stop and check it out. I remember back in 1971 when the Bridge was finally opened for tourists. It took a couple of years for it to be dismantled, packed and shipped over through the Panama Canal and reassembled in Lake Havasu City. It's now a lovely little park that is free to enjoy. Lots of little snack and souvenir shops and a cooling place to sit along beautiful blue Lake Havasu. There is even a little British souvenir shop and tourist information. A nice place to take a break along the road.

Visited Lake Havasu City on the way back from Las Vegas and stopped at the London Bridge. We spent a few minutes there looking at the bridge and taking a few photos. Nothing special when you look at it, but the history of it is what is special. There are some shopping areas near the bridge and a couple of hotels. It’s been quite a few years since we have visited and it is now built up around the ends of the bridge - used to be pretty wide open to view it.

The entire town of Lake Havasu is family friendly but the bridge is a fun place to take the kids. You can cross the bridge and take the kids to the park if you’re looking for things to do that don’t involve boating. The bridge itself has an interesting history that’s worth checking out while you’re in town.

We recently visited the London Bridge in Lake Havasu. It's a beautiful bride and crossing it twice didn't do it justice. Walking the trail and getting a side view, and looking up at it was amazing. The Colorado River is clear and the lake was beautiful. Fairy rides are available to take you across the lake to California and there's also a ferry ride that will take you the entire length of the lake which is spectacular. Why go on a cruise when you could cruise Lake Havasu?

Make sure you visit the Visitor's Center to get a full appreciation of the history of the bridge. Then enjoy walking around the area along the river. It's very well done with decent souvenir shops, bars and restaurants. Most have outdoor patios and the views are enjoyable.
We were there early in January and the buildings were covered with Christmas lights. It was so beautiful we went there three nights to enjoy the colorful displays.

This is a historical bridge as there has always been a bridge here since 43 AD.
It is not as flashy as the Tower Bridge but is part of a famous nursery rhyme. It has seen many hardships during its lifetime like a Viking attack, Fire of London and 13th century ice damage. No wonder it was falling down again and again and needed so much repair and replacement. There used to be several houses, shops and even a church on the older version. Plus there were charges on carriages crossing it during the 13th century. There have been many bridges built here over the years. The current one was inaugurated in 1973. It was designed by Lord Holford and inaugurated by Queen Elizabeth II. It is a box girder bridge. Interestingly its predecessor bridge was sold to an American who got it totally dismantled, each granite piece counted and marked and then shipped and trucked to Arizona where it was reinforced by steel and reassembled in Lake Havasu City. The current bridge has historical lamp posts which were built out of melted down cannons captured from Napoleon’s army during the Battle of Waterloo.

A London bridge in Arizona! Very cool to walk across and below. Plenty to sightsee. Catch lots of good food around I recommend the Barley Brothers Brewery [great beer] and the javelina cantina. We watched a little bit of history and haunted history before our trip to make it more exciting.

I live in Lake Havasu City so I’m able to see the London Bridge any time I’d like. They recently added colored lights to the bridge, which are beautiful. I’ve only seen them at Christmas time, but I’m told they can pick any colors by use of a smart phone or computer. The picture I’m including is just a still picture, but they can also make the lights dance to music.

While visiting Laughlin, NV we decided to make a road trip to the London Bridge in Lake Havasu, AZ. What a great trip. The drive is easy and has some beautiful scenery.
Lake Havasu is a beautiful little town that grew up around The Bridge. The area around the bridge is well maintained and contains shops, restaurants and places to rent boats, jet skies and bikes.
The bridge is amazing. Just the fact that it was moved from London to Arizona is amazing. But it is also a working bridge that crosses the river. It was rebuilt brick by brick 50 years ago and looks beautiful.
We were there in the off season but the area is still busy and shops are open. The water sports rentals were not open on our visit, too cold.
This area is a must see when in the area
Beautiful town, great water activity and The Bridge!

We stopped here en route from CA to AZ. The place is a bizarre mashup between England and SoCal Vibes. Imagine listening to the Beach Boys while eating bruschetta and looking at London Bridge. Unless you're into water sports, an hour is all you need. The visitor center has a little museum/gift shop manned by a kind gentleman, a smattering of shops and restaurants, including what is apparently the world's best mac'n'cheese, ice cream & boba, and a couple of bar & grille type places.
