After a 1,5km dirt road, arriving at this great tree. Imagine the fabulous age of this tree, something like 1500-2000 yrs and see it's impressive size and still alive. It's allmost an eco system on it's own. A 1/4 part has broken off, but it is still impressive. You will maybe only spent 15-30 min here, but still a must... More

Myself and 9 friends have been staying at the baobab tree for the past 5 nights. What an incredible stay we have had! The Jungalows are cosy and the outdoor bathrooms are an absolute treat ! The main treehouse is great fun when there is a group of you and the communal braai/fire pit is fantastic for the evenings. The... More

We arrived after noted closing time and were still permitted to see the tree and offered refreshments once we were Don. An hour and a half after closing time we were sat in the amazing garden, looking at this truly amazing tree. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Quaint self catering units available for hire. Will definitely make a weekend... More

What a magnificent tree - sad that is has been so abused - in our opinion. Certainly worth seeing. One section of the tree has broken away from the main stem, so 'the pub' can no longer be used [I'm so glad]......it is however still rooted and sending up new shoots - goodness knows what size it will be when... What an awful violation of a magnificent tree. The Baobab is alive and beautiful. Resin still forms little droplets on its smooth contoured skin -like bark even as some branches are felled by man or nature it stands in all its glory. Sad to see the hollowed crevice mutilated with rusty fans and nails and garish bits of stuff for... More

Unfortunately a big branch including a whole side of the tree fell off a couple of weeks ago. I hope something is going to be done

Drinks are cold and staff is friendly. Otherwise R25 entry fee is a kingly price for this site long past its prime...

Photos on the website should please be updated to reflect the current state of the place, especially the accommodation. The place is not well maintained. Not all bathrooms had warm water and a promise to come and fix it on the day was not honoured. We had to use the communal bathroom; we therefore could not "Have a shower under... More

It's about one and half hours drive from Polokwane, it's fun to learn about the biggest Baobab tree, it's stories, to take photos in front of it, and to climb it. It also has a pub inside the tree.
