We checked into one of the forest log cabins. These are solidly constructed and well appointed. The standard of housekeeping is excellent. The four bed versions are a bit cramped for space and expect to live out of your suitcase. Cooking facilities in the cabin...More

Wilderness National Park offers lots of activities such as canoeing, boat cruises and paddle boarding. There are also braai facilities on sight. We did a boat cruise which was quite scenic. A section of the river was closed off due to an ongoing dredging process...More

Beautiful views from look-out. So clean, and you can see the old railway track, pity it does not work anymore, but still makes an amazing picture for showing where you were.

Great place to visit. Malachite Hide was an absolute treat- just sit quietly with a pair of binoculars and slowly the birds come to you. From a distance they all look the same but as they swim closer you realize you’re wrong. There are several...More

Spent a lovely afternoon here. Didn't manage to canoe or braai, but the facilities are there and the area is well taken care of. Clean and spacious. Great for an arvie with the family.

The park is nice enough and has plentiful camping stands but limited ablution facilities. There are also chalets and bungalos to rent. There is not much to do here except to really relax or use it as a base to explore the Garden route. the...More

My wife and I drove along the 7 Pass route and stopped along the way to take in the views. Great scenery and we took in the Kingfisher walk which was great.

We really enjoyed a good walk along the Kingfisher trail. It was easy to follow and had some well maintained boardwalks, alongside the river. At one point, it was possible to cross the river on a pontoon bridge, which was fun. There is an admission...More

This could have been so great! It's beautiful nature, well structured walk with nice views etc. However you do get the feeling that the parkowners greed is impacting the experience; for the paddling it's tents with cars outside for 50% of the way and when...More

We enjoyed our walk along the kingfisher trail although we didn’t see any! We crossed the river on a floating pontoon and eventually arrived at the waterfall. Most enjoyable walk and fairly easy.
