Most beautiful place in wilderness

Well worth a visit to see the waterfall and go for a swim and a nice hike! Not difficult but will take a good couple of hours, 30 minutes if you can run it, depending on your pace!

We stayed in a 2 bedroomed log cabin (no 13A) which is completely private and far from other units. Very comfortable and has everything you may need (sat TV, microwave, stove etc) as well as a BBQ. Wonderful views over the wetlands. Great for bird watchers. Beautiful and well maintained camp sites right on the river. Lots of activities on... More

We did the half colored kingfisher trail to the waterfall, which was very easy to walk and very busy. The Bosduiv loop was harder to hike but offered really spectacular views and it was quiet because not many people did it that day. I would go there again and next time I'd take a kayak up the river.

Gorgeous views, especially from boardwalk over the forest. Waterfall was beautiful, and boulder-hopping across streams was lots of fun! Was quite surprised at the steep cost of the park permit - literally 4 X that if locals/SADC residents! Definitely felt that was a bit too much of a ripoff by SANParks, especially considering you can access parts of the trail... More

We love the Wilderness and visit it every year. There is so much to do, especially if you love the outdoors. Swimming in the river and lagoon is fabulous for all ages and swimming abilities as you can paddle safely but also swim for miles in the river. You can also rent canoes and do great trips up the river.... More

More of a stop or sleep over, rustic log cabins and huts along the Wilderness Lakes. Pleasant scenery. No restaurant nor shop as it is basically in town.

Nice tour. You can start the walk directly from Wilderness. Just follow the railwaytrails. For some kilometers you will be walking along the wetlands of the lagoon before you go into the woods and follow the stream upwards for about 3.5 kilometres.
