Very friendly staff at reception Accommodation was clean and spacious, we stayed in the 6 sleeper lodge/house. Be careful of the monkeys when you unpack your car, they robbed us! Don't leave the doors open to your house either, they are sneaky little guys! A...More

A beautiful game reserve with a wide variety of wildlife to see. The roads are in very bad condition and we ended up getting stuck in the mud. These roads are definitely not advisable if you do not own a 4x4 vehicle. The toilets at...More

The reserve is well worth a visit. The sense of wilderness to be found here was quite beyond our expectations and KZN Wildlife deserve huge kudos for their foresight in preserving this area. On the downside, the infrastructure is visibly taking strain. Our stay in...More

Ithala is a very nice park: the landscapes are breathtaking and there's a various vegetation. There's some animals like giraffes, rhinos, deers, wildebeests, warthogs, elephants but we didn't see any cats.

Ithala game reserve is set against a magnificent location against and between the rolling northern Kwa Zulu Natal hillside sensitively positioned within the indigenous environment on a rock shelf making Ntshondwe camp almost invisible from most vantage points. The camp offers two bed individual accommodation...More

My husband and I stayed in one of the chalets. The decor and fittings are very 'dated' - 1970/early 80s era. It is time management put money back into updating bathroom and kitchen areas. There was nothing 'exciting' to buy in the curio shop -...More

After following the signs from Louwsburg we eventually came to the Ntshondwe Camp site. Pleased to find a chalet available and booked for two nights. Arranged a sunset safari and were the only couple on the trip so had the delightful Joseph to ourselves. He...More

In March four of us spent two nights at Ithala and whilst the game viewing was limited the quality was great. We carefully admired a rock python going about its business from a mere two metres. How quiet elephants can be is amazing. Views from...More

The roads are mostly acceptable for normal sedans, you just have to take it slowly and stay away from the 4x4 routes - they are what they say 4x4. Not sure how powerful your vehicle is, depending on which route you take... More
