Also colloquially known just as The Pretoria Zoo, it has changed little since i first visited as a child almost 40 years ago. In spite of consistent challenges regarding funding in the face of larger socio-economic challenges it manages to fight decay rather well. In...More

The hall we booked was prepared and conjucive for us to hold a formal function. The catering was excellent and we can't complain.

It's a big zoo so expect and enjoy plenty of walking (elderly/young or lazy can hire the golf carts). Photo's taken on entrance are printed but a bit pricey to buy (optional). Loved all the animals including THE BIG FIVE, birds, snakes, fish and spiders...More

The zoo and the animals all look quite tired and run down. A lot of rubbish about the zoo and it was such a shame to see other guests tapping away at glass, shouting at animals etc when there are massive signs next to them...More

My kids enjoyed the trip, I've been here in the past, seems your standards are dropping. Doesn't matter anyways, my kids where just as excited as my wife as she saw the animals. Nice trip I must say.

We had visited quite some years ago but this was the first time for our 5yr old. The zoo seems a bit stale and old. Needs to be spruced up. All the main animals were still there. Cable way is also a nice treat for...More

We hailed one of the workers riding a cart, offered him 50- and he took us all the way to the top and collected us at the specified time arranged later.

Hi There. If you have a smart phone it will help you to get there. From the airport you can take the Gautrain and the bus. But private transport and Uber will be safer. Travel time is about 45 min.
