Rugby and Sport mecca

Newlands oozes sport and professionalism. Super beautiful place and very helpful ground staff. We have had a great time and the visit was worthwhile.

Because it is so compact you really feel part of the game here. Plenty of good restaurants and bars nearby as well!

Had to have a look around the stadium even though I could not get inside. It looks very impressive from the outside managed to look threw the fence and got a glimpse of the pitch.

Newlands Rugby Stadium is more, far more than a Rugby Stadium - it is an integral part of Cape Town & is treated / visited with a certain reverence. It is home to the DHL Stormers / Western Province & also hosts Test Matches in season. It's easy to access, although parking in the surrounding area can be a nightmare... More

I attended a rugby match at this stadium. The views of the stadium and seating was great (all at a very reasonable price), but the stadium itself is a little bareboned. The concession stand could use a little bit of an upgrade (and you can't bring beer to your seats), but it is definitely worth going here if you want... More

What a treat! We've never been to a Rugby match. Ticket offices were closed, however, we were directed to the main offices where we could buy tickets. For 60R ($5.00) we were in the 6th row midfield. We watched Western Providence beat the Durban Sharks. It was so thrilling. Food was inexpensive. The team gear outside was much more expensive... More

You have not watched rugby until you have experienced the atmosphere at Newlands. Yes, a portion of the crowd at All Black Test matches tend to sometimes misbehave by supporting NZ, but wait until the get behind the Springboks against the likes of England and the Wallabies...not to mention the ultimate north - south clash when the Blue Bulls take... We enjoyed our trip to Newlands and the nearby Springbok pub. The stadium has a good atmosphere although we sat at the back of the middle tier which meant the tier above blocked out some of the view. Alcohol is only served and can only be consumed in the small bars which were very busy.
