Delta park follows a river with two ponds and a huge amount of open space in the suburb of Blairgowrie. There are runners, biking trails, picnic spots, water birds and lots of dogs about every weekend and less so during the week when people are...More

Recommended as a good, place for,dog walks. Take your binoculars and a bird guide as the birds are so easy to see and therefore identify?

Take a trail run down the spruit with a circle thru Delta - do this at run rise to get the calm and quiet morning. Share the path with many like minded folk and dog-walkers. One of the places to get away in a big...More

Delta is a Parkrun venue - Saturdays at 8:00am for a 5km walk or run, if you're the enthusiastic type. Be warned, it is very popular - over 1000 runners easily, and lots of dogs. But also tons of 'gees' (spirit) and a lovely setting.

Lovely park for walks, jogs, cycling & pets. Beautiful old trees, ponds, streams & bird life, open until 9pm but would not venture there for safety reasons. Unfortunately the streams are filthy with vagrants living, bathing & using these beautiful streams as toilets... The bird...More

We often frequent the park, for walks with our dogs. The park is great for a walk and is big enough so you are not going in circles.

Good for walks, good for dogs. Saturday Parkrun very crowded but good fun. Safe, easy parking (except Saturdays) and reasonably scenic.

The Delta Park is beautiful, especially in the spring time when all the flowers bloom. The park isn't as manicured as traditional parks, but the wildness is what makes it so charming. Often busy with people running or walking their dogs. As with any Johannesburg...More

Johannesburg Parks has a no alcohol policy. I am not sure how effectively this is enforced but on their web page it clearly states that their parks are no alcohol areas.

I have never seen one but you can contact their offices and check. People regularly picnic though so I don't see why it would be a problem.
