A good and big zoo. Animals are in quite large areas. Almost every type of animal can be seen. There are fast food offers and a small park for the kids. Recommended for a nice day with family.

Amazing experience !! One of the best Johannesburg has to offer. This is a fantastic way to spend the day with lots to see and do. Easy to get around if you hire a golf cart so less walking as it get can tiring.

The Johannesburg zoo is a firm favorite place to visit for a lovely scenic 5.5km walk. The animals are well looked after and healthy. It’s clear that the zoo needs a large cash donation as the grounds are not maintained like in the past and...More

JHB Zoo is one of my favourite places in the city. The animals are well taken care of and the conservation efforts by the zoo are wonderful. We had a behind the scenes tour and the elephants were very curious when we were at the...More

We took three children with us, aged 2, 9 and 11. They absolutely loved it. They loved seeing the animals, most of which were kept in very clean surroundings. From an adult perspective, I do not like to see caged animals but understand the fascination...More

Not a fan of animals in cages, but I recently took my godchildren to the Johannesburg Zoo and they loved it. I loved the zoo as a child, but as an adult I see it somewhat differently. That said, the enclosures seem well-maintained and there...More

Hi Ruth Just called to find out for you - there do NOT have the golf cart tours available anymore but do have wheelchairs for hire (R100 per day). Hope this helps.

No, not possible. To interact with baby lions you should go to Lion Park.
