We wife and I had heard that the Discovery centre was a great way to pass time with our children. Arriving at the discovery centre, you felt as if you were arriving at antiquated and neglected facility. Upon entry, we realized that our first impressions were correct. Wild mildly interesting, the facility was truly outdated, and the staff seemed very... More

We brought the kids to the Sci-Bono and we all enjoyed all the exhibitions. The kids especially enjoyed trying out various science experiences. The planetarium was a hit for the 10 year olds as the entire session (approximately 30 minutes) is relevant to their school curriculum. We couldn't see everything despite being there for over 3 hours. There's so much... More

I took my 3 and 5year olds and my 64 year old mom and dad to sci bono. What a well kept on place. Really reasonable with quality equipment, displays and helpful knowledgeable staff. Worth a visit. We all enjoyed it , certainly not just for kids!

Great concept, well designed. The kids loved the interactive exhibition. Adults too. Its kept clean as well. The staff are not the greatest though, they're not exactly falling over themselves to help or explain anything. A short introduction or guide map at the entrance will add much value.

The bad weather meant we found ourselves in Sci-Bono. It was great for the children with so much to see and be interactive with. They loved learning and playing at the same time. Staff could have done more, mostly sat around and felt like it was a big ask to help show us how the various exhibits worked

We had a great morning out at Sci Bono, not the most helpful staff but easy enough to get around the museum and lots of activities for all ages.

Exploring Joburg, I had to visit this science center. There are many cool do it yourself science experiments and practical things to do there. It is more directed towards kids though, so don't forget the little ones at home. There is even a play area for kids and a small cafe to buy a bit to eat.

One of the best activities to do with younger children (aged say 5-11) - they love the interactive displays and learn while playing - great for a rainy miserable day.
