Ellis park is full of History. I would recommend to pay a little bit extra for parking close to the stadium and s theres quite a few really safe parking lots nearby The atmosphere here is overwhelming sometimes but it's an experience everyone would enjoy, Many places to grab something to eat and drink.

My daughter and I visited the Ellis Park Rugby Museum early in the morning. We were greeted by very friendly staff who were interested in where we came from, our involvement in rugby, etc and then gave us as much time as we needed to wander around the museum which has an incredible amount of memorabilia and news articles on... Ellis Park is a huge stadium. Some of the seats behind the goal posts are therefore extremely high up and the walk up to your seat can be quite steep and possibly unsuitable for older persons. The best seats are near the half-way line about 10 - 20 rows back, offering a great view of both ends and not too far... More

Was a shocking experiance ... The fact you feel so un-safe from the moment you park your car to the fact you have ot walk far to get to the stadium , haggled and harassed for money and rubbish by the locals made this a terrible experience .. Do not take smaller kids cause the area is terribly unsafe

I have attended both in the general area and in boxes and was privileged to watch, I am tempted to say participate in - given the contagious atmosphere, SA win the world rugby cup some years ago. the stadium is well designed with good facilities although if you can avoid having to park there then do so.

We have been around to stadiums and in my opinion Ellis Park Stadium wins with Loftus Versfelt in a second place. We attended a rugby game South Africa vs All Blacks, magic is an understatement. Then we were so fortunate to have tickets for the Soccer World Cup in 2010 and we were a big group of people attending -... More

Once in, the stadium the vibe is always electric, sound is good and seating well organised and easy to find. However, if you have not bought pre-paid parking on a big match day (tri-nations, SA game) - you are in for the most irritating drive of your life to find parking! Car guards will try and make an easy buck... More

Emirates Park AKA Ellis Park is the home stadium for the Lions Super Rugby franchise. They have made huge strides in recent years to attract more spectators having beefed up the facilities and the security. Inside the stadium it is very safe. Outside you need to have your wits about you. Recommend buying a parking ticket if going to the... More
