Lots of money thrown at this Museum, Interactive digital meets old school photographs. Some interesting facts omitted here and there but anyway all good for the tourists I suppose.

Through its series of graphic displays, videos and documents, the museum recounts the history of South Africa;s apartheid days and its reersal through Mandela. A must visit if you are in Johannesburg.

I knew about apartheid when I was growing up but had no idea how awful it really was. Just entering the museum through a gate for "whites only" after being categorised as white brought home a feeling of how terrible this system was.

Highly informative exhibition, well presented. Although we had been to Robben Island and Constitution Hill before, we still learnt a lot about Madiba and Oliver Tambo. The films on the riots in the very early 1990s and the extreme right-winged White movement were shocking.

A haunting display of a dark part of South Africa's history, and the brutalisation and mistreatment of black south Africans and their courageous fight against racial discrimination. The Mandela exhibition was also an amazing portrayal of his life and tells how one man can change...More
