My husband and I made the mistake of just "browsing" this market since it was at the beginning of our three week journey through South Africa. Well, I can honestly say this was the best market we found and better prices than in other big cities such as Cape Town (we were not impressed with the Green Market in Cape... More

Everyone sells them same stuff. Even the same stuff you can find in Cape Town (where we found cheaper souvenirs) and even in Mozambique! Call that globalisation!!! The prices are insanely high You must me really prepared to negotiate! Go there unless you REALLY need to buy one last souvenir otherwise skip it

plenty of choices and wide veriety of local crafts. Feel free to bargain. Resist the pressure selling typical of such places altough it was mild compared to typical touristy places

We loved the African Craft Market in Rosebank. It is the perfect place to buy authentic African Art. The sellers do tend to rip you off as a tourist so it is important to negotiate and know the general price of the goods. And they all want you to come and buy from them so it can get overwhelming. But... More

They have some quality stuff at this craft market. Be prepared for a couple of things. First, you are going to pay a premium and bartering is a challenge. Second, some fo the vendors are really pushy. I became very upset today and walked out on a vendor who was bring too pushy. They are still way less pushy than... More

Something to be bought by everyone at very good prices. I bought a few scarves and framed art. The younger ones bought jewelry.

Went there to pick up a few African gifts for friends and family as mementos. Not a great deal of choice really but the young a a one stall was charging double what one of the longer term folk was looking for. So have a good look around and go with the older folks for a fair price.

Wanted to purchase african gifts for family and friends. We had the Rosebank market recommended to us. It is situated at a large modern shopping mall with good parking. We found a number of stalls with a large variety of curios. The prices are not as good as Green St markets in Cape Town. You need to bargain. All in... More

Jan 3: The Art & Craft market at Rosebank is a must visit to purchase local artefacts. While at the entry, there is a small place, there is an entire basement to explore. Be sure to bargain. The stuff they have is good.
