This place is sensational. Our ranger francs was awesome. Knowledge was incredible. He knew everywhere off and on road. Think we saw practically every animal they had to offer. Can't thank him enough. A must to do for anyone.

Amazing safari, really felt wild despite being a reserve, lots of game, big 5 and much more. Great staff and service, guide very knowledgeable and good host. Stayed at Eagles Crag which was disappointing as 20-30 min drive to most game and felt like a business hotel not a lodge, try the others.

This was our first ever game safari experience and it did not disappoint. We stayed for one night in the Long Lee Manor lodge after much deliberation about whether to do one or two nights - we ended up deciding on one and spent the other night at Addo Elephant National Park (an amazing experience and therefore a great choice).... My partner and I have just returned from a 16 day trip to South Africa. There is no doubt that the highlight of the trip was the stay at Shamwari Game Reserve. We stayed at Eagles Crag which is their top quality lodge in the centre of the reserve. The accommodation was a rondavel style individual building with a net... More

We stayed at Eagles Crag for two nights safari. Unfortunately the lodge itself we found to be rather disappointing and the room not indicative of the photographs. The room was tired it needs updating. There is absolutely no outlook other than the bush and the plunge pool, full of bits, was very uninviting as was sitting on the decking as... More

Truly a first class experience. Not fair to give only a five star rating. The lodge is exceptional. The food is over the top. The game drive was beyond my greatest expectations. The staff deserve a sixth star.

Extremely well presented and organised Game Reserve. A great introduction to the wildlife in this part if the world. The accommodation was spacious and beautifully decorated. Lovely swimming pool and sitting out area for free time between outings! Food well thought out, well prepared and well served!

I have now been to Shamwari Game Reserve's 'Shamwari Conservation Experience' to volunteer on two occasions now, once in July/August of 2015, and once in February/March 2017. A total of 5 weeks for both trips. I can safely say that this is easily one of the best experiences in my life. If you enjoy physical work, learning about wildlife and... More
