Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thanks Plett everybody so friendly it's a lot bigger than in my time but for the better well proud. A very beautiful and unique spot you have to go a long way to find this. The nature, beaches, wildlife and sights are out of this world. So much to see and do spoilt for choice. Resturants and shops a plenty.

Was really surprised to find this beach almost deserted on a Sunday afternoon. Had walked on the beach by the Beacon Island Resort yesterday and it was a similar tale. Ok it had been raining earlier and it’s fair to say it was windy when walked onto Robberg 5 Beach. Surprised to find no lifeguards on patrols. Beach looked nice but not spectacular. However could happily walk for miles, and in my case, barely passed a sole. So relaxing

Having visited Plett many times in the past, I am very disappointed to see how dog unfriendly a town it has become. It seems there is nowhere one can enjoy a walk in nature with your dogs off a lead, and there is not a lot of choice even for them on a lead! Certainly no forest hikes to be found!!! What a pity that sanparks does not allow dogs in any part of its reserves as Cape Nature do in Cape Town. Sorry Plett we love to bring our dogs with us on holiday and we love to enjoy our walks with them so we won't be back!!!

In the middle of the afternoon my husband and myself were mugged at knife point. He demanded money which we didn't have because we were just going for a walk on the beach. He didn't believe us and threatened to kill me with his large knife. Do not take narrow paths down to the beach. The police were called everyone was very kind. They said it was normally safe. I think we were just unlucky. Please be careful.

A world class unspoilt beach - a 4km long stretch of sand from Beacon Island to Robberg Penninsula. There are 4 swimming areas with life guards but generally it is safe. A great walk as well, with dogs being allowed on the 2km to Robberg (but please clean up afterwards!)

The sea and beaches are amazing, the streets without any potholes, the people friendly, the vegetation beautiful and South Africa can be proud of this beautiful town.

lovely walking beach whilst enjoying surfers and if you are lucky enough, dolphins passing by. A nice swimming beach with some restaurants nearby. Daily excursions from beach, good to watch boats launching if you are not into going out to sea ....

On our 2 week holiday we walked several of the beaches in Plett, and even found 4 pansy shells on Lookout beach. The beaches are clean, barring Wreck beach which had millions of clams shells washed up. The toilets on Central beach need to be cleaned, and the ones at Poortjes are absolutely disgusting - come on Bitou Muni, pull your socks up and clean your toilets please.

Sun, surf and lazy days in Plettenberg bay. Close enough to Knysna and Tsitsikamma forest for day visits.

There are lovely beaches all around Plett, with completely different characters. To the west side - Robberg - the current can be difficult for swimmers but a good place to walk. Central Beach is more family friendly. Lookout Beach is ideal for kites or a kick-around with the kids.
