Unfortunately the area is still very dry despite the rain lately. Met one of the rangers who was helpful. He chatted to us about the park and what we might see on our self drive tour. We saw a variety of bucks - from very small to the very large. Giraffe and water monitor. A few bird species and a... More

Not good at all - virtually no game only antelope and one Giraffe in the distance. The lunch menu was not good and the service also not great. We will not be back

Its a good option for Game drive, but the number of animals are bit less in count. Lions are caged. Couldn't catch elephants.

Mpongo Game Reserve is amazing. The tranquillity and scenery takes your breath away. Waking up to the buck grazing outside your door, plus the roars of the lion. No better place to relax, take a game drive and experience the bush. Meals are amazing and well done to all staff!!!! I was taken back at the hippo pool, 2 beautiful... More

A family of six adults and a 2 year old for the day, the "farm yard" was great and our grandson loved it. With goats, the cutest calf, rabbits, pigs, monkeys, parrots, birds and even a Emu. A delight for young children. The jungle gym was a little tired. The Lions in the enclosures were also lovely to see. The... More

Had a great time here. We did a self drive, watched the Hippos Having Lunch. Then we had an amazing buffet lunch. There is also a touch farm.

I really enjoyed this park. It is affordable, very close to EL and the staff are very friendly. The wildlife we saw was incredible!!!! We took a self-drive around the park and it felt as if it was only us and the animals. Truly magical! The only observations are that the lions are in quite a small enclosure and look... More

Had a great game drive for 3hrs and saw many animals. No giraffe or elephants, but plenty buck and zebra. For the price (R70 adult, R40 child), it was great value and a lot of fun - 5 star! Going for lunch was terrible - worst we have experienced in SA. Slow service with inedible food. We were mildly concerned... More

Well off we went in our friends Land Rover to check out Mpongo Park. We self drove our Sarari trip and although seeing lots of buck it was an elephant we hoped to see. Oh well they must have hidden themselves well. We stopped for a flask of tea and biscuits high up looking down on the valleys. We decided... More
