Video is a good introduction for the park. Also has dinosaur bones of ancient creatures. Large walking area with beautiful crystallized trees. And gift shop. Plenty of parking

The gift shop looks busy with customers, or so it appears, until you take a closer look at all the cars parked in front. These cars, on display, are staged to sucker you in. All these vehicles, except for the employee, had flat tires and...More

The store and museum has a lot of interesting items that relate to the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert. They offer free boondock camping with an RV, tent or sleep in one of their tepees with a dirt floor. Most sites have sheltered picnic tables.

This little museum located almost out in no-where-land at Holbrook, AZ is literally a "gem" of a museum and gift shop for those who are geology buffs and native American artwork collector. It is so far out in the desert area that cell phone reception...More

"Free Museum, free petrified wood, free campground, free maps" claim the signs on both sides of the Southern entrance of the Park. There are even some dinosaurs, even if they are fake. Once you get inside, you'll be quick to realize it's your perfect tourist...More
