Alcantara Vineyards is a dream venture created by Barbara and husband Bob to provide their family and partners the opportunity to live the dream of growing a vineyard community and winery. It was in cultivating the vineyards and embracing the land that Barbara and her family soon realized there was a bigger picture in this hidden treasure along the confluence of two rivers. You’ll find Alcantara Vineyards has over 13,000 vines and offers 12 different varietals. While you sip wine and enjoy our peaceful surroundings, which include vineyards, a grass picnic area, the Verde River and bald eagles flying overhead, you’ll find you are part of our community and family.

A bit of the main route, this winery stop offers a chance to taste some enjoyable wines, tour the winery and wander through the vineyards. The tasting fee is reasonable, given the bottlings offered. We chose a table on the deck overlooking the planted rows...More

My husband, a friend and I visited Alcantara last year on a Saturday. Unfortunately it wasn't a very good experience. The place was packed with people, and the live music was right next to our table. We escaped the crowd and went to the deck....More

My sister and I visited for her birthday and the staff was amazing. The wine was fantastic and so were the appetizer options! It was also pretty cool to be met at the door by the official winery puppy dog!

Avoid the traffic into Sedona and drop by Alcantara! If you exit on the "Cottonwood" exit off of I-17 instead of the Sedona exit you'll be taken on a nice traffic free detour through Cottonwood and on to 89a into Sedona. Alcantara is on 179...More

We had a wonderful sunny afternoon at Alcantara. The vineyard tour was great and the Moscato unbelievable. The staff was friendly and educated...we had never done a wine tasting or vineyard tour...the views are gorgeous.

Stunning, romantic scenery, a very friendly and accommodating staff, and the wines were tasty! We tried the Reds and liked the Sangiovese and the Zinfandel.

A stunning winery! Beautiful sights and very accommodating for waking around. Also great for dining events with a secluded chapel / luncheon type of a place. If this review were purely based on the wines it would be a 2 or 3 star. Too much...More

The vineyard is at a very scenic location on a bend of the Verde River. However, the wine was disappointing. The reds were very acidic. However, we still enjoyed visiting and will try again in the fall.

Mid March our vines are still dormant, we usually are pruning at this time. The vines start to push in April and start leafing in May. Vines start verasion (grapes skins start to turn colors and juice forming inside) in... More
