We did not stay at the park due to alergies but we joined our church group who did. The bathrooms were clean and arranged so that they were close to all the campers. There were hiking trails everywhere. At the end of the park is where the horses were and we had a wonderful one hour ride with our group.... More

Camped at the top of the hill away from the noise of generators. The night time views were nice. Miles and miles of skyline!

The woman that works at the park gate was very friendly and helpful. We drove to the Verde River and got some nice pictures. We then drove to the marsh lakes, that was my favorite place. I got some great pictures of the water, trees and mountains. They have walking trails around the water with lots of benches and picnic... More

It is pretty park located on the verde river in the lower and older areas of Cottonwood and provides a good spot for a picnic and water activities.

Made plans to stay here for two nights at the end of September. Made reservations in the tent loop to get away from the generators and mosquitos down by the river. Was a little bummed out that the camp sites are on top of one another but that is expected in a campground. Most of the neighbors were friendly. Park... More

We went to Dead Horse Ranch State Park. Its a pretty place on the Verde River. There are trails for hiking. One can also camp. Its a popular place also for water activities, boating and canoeing, and bird watching. One can also go fishing.

We stayed here in our motor home. RV sites were large and pretty. A nice quiet campground. Good fishing lakes pretty close to the campground. Good proximity to Cottonwood, Jerome, Sedona, town and neat historical sites. Some nice hiking trails in the park where you can get up high enough to overlook Tuzigoot. We enjoyed our stay here and would... More

We are tent campers. The view was amazing. The host outstanding. Clean free showers. Our site was 111 and after walking the area I think it was one of the bests.

First of all I'd like to say I'm a full time RV'er, and I've stayed in lots of other state parks, and RV parks. I'm in the middle of my four day stay here in the park. The park is very nice, with great pull through spots for my over-sized motor home, and towed car. That's a big plus, not... More

The cabins are sweetly named for different medicine animals. Our cabin was Eagle, which I found to be very endearing. The walk along the Verde River was an easy walk. A passer by was disappointed as they expected a bigger challenge and missed what was there in front of them.... One of the only Rivers left - free- flowing in... More
