Overview
More
Whirlwind Golf Club is truly a unique southwest golf experience. The courses, clubhouse, and practice facilities are sensitively designed to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Gila River Indian Community. Named for the prominent design feature of the hand-woven basketry of the Authum tribe, Whirlwind is the work of golf course architect Gary Panks. His design weaves the spirit and legacy of this ancient land into a marvelous test of golf. The Devil's Claw course features sweeping elevation changes and dramatic bunkering. The Cattail course complements the Devil's Claw, but lends a whole new flavor to this 36-hole masterpiece, with its rolling fairways accented by striking water features and deep canyons. Whirlwind promises a dynamic golf experience marked by spectacular landscaping, unrivaled course conditions, and genuine customer service.

Played the Cattail course twice while staying at the attached resort. The golf course is challenging to the point it keeps you sharp yet forgiving enough that you won't be in the desert all day looking for your ball. The condition of the golf course...More

We have played both Cattail and Devils Claw. Every time we are in the area, we make a point to play here, the course is absolutely beautiful and you will most definitely see much wildlife, from coyotes to little ( what we call ground squirrels)....More

We played the Cattail course with friends who live in Tucson. A real oasis of green in the desert. We all found it a bit too lush as it had been overly watered and was quite damp in too many places. The fairways were not...More

We met friends to play a round. We were very surprised at the quality of the course along with the friendly staff members. Made us feel right at home.

A lush, beautiful golf course with well manicured fairways and greens full of wildlife. The pro shop staff however was curt and unfriendly. We overheard them be short and rude with customers on the phone. We will be back, but the pro shop staff needs...More

The devil’s claw course at whirlwind is a gem in the desert. Great value for the area, well maintained golf course run by the Troon group of courses. The restaurant is also very good value, with a lovely patio with large umbrellas. We noticed staff...More

Continuing my quest to golf all the Phoenix Metro Courses... This course one of my new favorites. The landscaping with the natural desert right next to each hole is beautiful. The bag drop was super easy to find and use coming and going. The proshop,...More

Everything from the staff, the rates, the practice facility, the tee boxes, fairways, traps and greens were first rate. Devils Claw is a little more wide open than Cat's Tail but both are equally picturesque and challenging.

Hi, I don't know if there is any discount for staying there ( although I suspect so ) but the average going rate will probably be about $150-175 for peak time play. Hope this helps.
