Whirlwind Golf Club is truly a unique southwest golf experience. The courses, clubhouse, and practice facilities are sensitively designed to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Gila River Indian Community. Named for the prominent design feature of the hand-woven basketry of the Authum tribe, Whirlwind is the work of golf course architect Gary Panks. His design weaves the spirit and legacy of this ancient land into a marvelous test of golf. The Devil's Claw course features sweeping elevation changes and dramatic bunkering. The Cattail course complements the Devil's Claw, but lends a whole new flavor to this 36-hole masterpiece, with its rolling fairways accented by striking water features and deep canyons. Whirlwind promises a dynamic golf experience marked by spectacular landscaping, unrivaled course conditions, and genuine customer service.

Continuing my quest to golf all the Phoenix Metro Courses... This course one of my new favorites. The landscaping with the natural desert right next to each hole is beautiful. The bag drop was super easy to find and use coming and going. The proshop,...More

Everything from the staff, the rates, the practice facility, the tee boxes, fairways, traps and greens were first rate. Devils Claw is a little more wide open than Cat's Tail but both are equally picturesque and challenging.

This is an outstanding test of golf with amazing conditions on pristine fairways, undulating smooth greens, and manicured tee boxes. The cart greeting is efficient and gracious, the pro shop contact, Drew, was a little feisty but sincere, and CiCi the starter was the Bomb....More

The clever names for its two 18 hole circuits are meaningless- though typically in good condition- its little more than an average links style course with a nice clubhouse and driving range. Most of the holes are plain and unremarkable, there is only water on...More

I have played several Scottsdale courses through the years and I probably would not put this in my top 10. The courses are in great shape and the staff is great but I don't think the courses have a lot of character. Many of the...More

Played the Cattail course and it was in very good condition. Greens were good but not fast by any means. Wide open fairways. Played silver tees at 6300 yards but gold and black tees play longer. Two shorter sets of tees also available. Nice clubhouse...More

I have reviewed this complex before, but felt compelled to do it again after just being there a week ago. Had a couple of large customers out for a golf weekend and scheduled both 18s at Whirlwind for a long day of golf. We showed...More

Today we enjoyed a wonderful golf experience. Checking in, we enjoyed a beautiful pro shop and friendly staff. The course was in great shape and very challenging (meaning a high score). :) My wife forgot her hand bag in the shop and the Ranger delivered...More

Firstly, what a great course. I played the Silver tees as a high handicap. It was around 6300 yards. If you search the web they show a score card and you can get all yardages. Enjoy your round there. And please visit... More

Hi, I don't know if there is any discount for staying there ( although I suspect so ) but the average going rate will probably be about $150-175 for peak time play. Hope this helps.
