As long as you don't get claustrophobic easily, this is a really fun learning experience. You will learn more in a short time about the mining industry than by any other means. The guides are actual former miners in THIS mine and they know their stuff. They will answer your questions about mining, minerals, and mine safety. You will be... More

We had taken this tour over ten years ago and enjoyed it this time also. It's very informative and I think the fact that our guide actually worked there at one time made it even better. He was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting. One thing that has changed is that they no longer have everyone turn off their... More

We did this tour with six adults and five kids, and everyone enjoyed it. The guides are very knowledgeable and informative. After riding the tram in, you get off twice and see actual working areas as they were long ago. I have claustrophobia, but did not have any issues. I guess I was occupied with the information being presented.

The Queen Mine is a great tour. You get to wear a rain coat and mining helmet and then board a small train and travel deep into the old copper mine. It was fascinating. Our tour guide Sonny was an actual miner in his younger days. Sonny gave a tour like no other I have been on due to his... More

Had a great time riding the little train into the Mine. Guide was an ex miner who had been there in 1975 when it shut down. Gotta go back and do it again w the grandkids!

Great tour of what a working mine was/is like. Don your mining attire and take the train into the tunnels. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. If you have any claustrophobia issues, I would not recommend the tour. See how hard these miners worked back in the day. The tour is approx 1 hour in length and well worth the... More

We visited the copper mine Feb 2017 and enjoyed the tour. You take a team down and stop at various points of interest. Very interesting and your guides were great. We would recommend stopping and checking this tour. It might not be for everyone, but is the type of stuff we enjoy and always learn something interesting.

To see something from the past that you only heard about is a blessing. All the docents for this tour are former miners who give factual knowledge and experiences. They dress you for the part with a vest ( or jacket ), a hard hat and a miner's belt and light. You ride into the mine some 1500 feet stopping... More

I have toured this mine a couple times and have much fun each time. I highly recommend it for families, girl and boy scouts groups, couples, or individuals. You ride a mine train and it takes you thousands of feet underground where the real copper miners worked every day back in the early 70's. It is well worth the $13... More
