We spent a great day kayaking amongst the icebergs of Columbia Glacier, note you do not get close enough to even see the glacier itself. It was a long day 1 hour kitting up and basic kayaking instruction, 2 hour boat ride through the sound, each way leaving about 5 hours for paddling and a lunch break. We were paired... More

We had an excellent day with Pangea Adventures on their trip to kayak among icebergs (and Bergie bits) near Columbia Glacier. The guides, Kinsey (native of Seward) and Tyler (knowledgable naturalist), were awesome! The water taxi was very fun too, with Captain Dave! What an amazingly beautiful day!

We took the Columbia Glacier tour late this summer and are thankful we did. It was the highlight of our Alaskan vacation which is saying something. Our guide Sammy was just a pleasure, clearly passionate about what she does and brimming with contagious enthusiasm. Seals, sea lions, otters, eagles, cool ocean birds, breathtaking scenery were all part of our experience.... More

Spend 8 hours (including gear up and safety tip etc) total for kayaking trip. Spent a sizable time kayaking to the glacier, listening to Ian (our guide who was funny and friendly). Being wet and cold or that it was raining did not matter, this was my favorite adventure and we did many other adventure during our trip. For the... More

I took a 10 hour kayaking tour to Columbia Glacier and it turned out to be one of the highlights in my totally amazing trip. Courtney and Nathan did an amazing job taking 11 of us around and showing us hidden gems of the place. Topped with seals, sea lions and sea otters, it was totally unforgettable. Beautiful, sunny day... More

We went on the Columbia Glacier Kayaking tour. It was an experience of a life time. There were three of us, my fiancée, myself and my adult son. My son was paired up with a Russian lady and we all had a fabulous time with Sammy our tour guide. There were 8 of us total (an Australian family as well).... More

Several friends went with Pangaea and had great experience. I had high expectations but it happens that our guide was new (her first time in Alaska) and inexperienced. We didn't get to hear any stories or background information while kayaking, and we didn't get to explore many glaciers/icebergs. Disappointed.

Hey there. We're bummed to hear that you did not enjoy your experience with Pangaea. Who was your guide, and which tour did you do? Our guides come from all parts of the country and Alaska, and we do train new guides to become comfortable, competent and knowledgeable with the area. I'm sorry if your experience was not as good... We were staying at the Princess Copper River Lodge and picked this excursion for our family of five. We booked this excursion through Princess Cruise line, "Worthington Glacier Hike". We were picked up at the lodge by van and traveled to the glacier. Our guides gave us thorough instruction before we began our hike. We had two fantastic guides, (Julian... More

Hi Kathleen! We appreciate you taking the time to submit a review. I believe your other guide's name was Nathan :) And just a side note, if you look at our website, we only charge $99 per person for the glacier hike. The Princess Lodge will charge you much more than that, perhaps to cover the drive back and forth,... More

Okay I went through this part of Alaska with a tour group. I found the instructions given by the guide as excellent - Meredith. The guidance around the bay was excellent and everyone felt safe. Very good operator there! The day was very average, very cloudy, wet and cold. This impacted the day immensely. After the trips following day, a... More
