My husband and I, along with two friends, did a 5-day Glacier Island and Columbia Glacier tour. It was truly the experience of a lifetime. None of us had ever taken a trip of this kind. For my part, it was essentially the first time I had ever been in a kayak, and one of the first times I'd been... More

Three friends and I joined Ilene for an incredible adventure through Prince William Sound, Alaska in late June 2016 (5-day kayaking tour around Glacier Island and Columbia Glacier)! It far exceeded our expectations for a rugged, physical and natural existence for several days. While being out of our comfort zone, I never doubted Ilene’s leadership and always appreciated her warm... More

My wife and I did this tour on Sept 3 with Bagel as our guide. We loved it. I am 65 and easily bored (been there done that), but this was really special. We were gone 6 hours and the time flew by. We paddled across the lake, got off and onto the glacier and enjoyed our lunch. We then... More

If you read my other reviews, I only give negative reviews when I think it's really warranted. I prefer to do positive reviews of places/experiences I really enjoyed. I will only do a negative review when I'm either really pissed off or feel that people need to know the truth. Our family traveled to Alaska to see the glaciers, the... More

I'm sorry the trip didn't live up to your expectations Tom. sometimes the hardest part of running a tour business is getting past the image of the trip a client has in his mind. The trip you took is the same trip that the vast majority of clients reviewing rate as outstanding. It's called a Columbia Glacier tour because everyplace you... More

We kayaked and hiked on the Valdez Glacier 6-hour trip. We found the guides to be very knowledgeable about the glacier, the lake, and its history. The guides were very patient, and had planned for contingencies. This trip was a nice mixture of light adventure and learning. One note: Hiking on the glacier is VERY COLD, which caused our iPhones... More

Disclaimer- it rained on our entire 10 hour trip. But, we were expecting to see much more wildlife as I had called ahead to determine the best trip for us. I was told on the phone there was a good chance to see whales but when we were in the kayaks and asked, our guide said they rarely see whales... More

Valdez Glacier is very different from Matanuska Glacier which we hiked the previous week. Our guide led us around to various interesting formations within the icebergs on the lake and the glacier itself. The highlight was kayaking to a couple of ice caves in the glacier. The concern for safety seemed more casual than at Matanuska. Perhaps this was due... More

This was a first. Kayaking around icebergs and inside sea caves. It was an electrifying experience. The ice caves were so beautiful! And good thing was that the waters are sheltered, so no waves or turbulence and hence suitable for anyone. Our guide Cassie was also fantastic. She checked the safety of the ice caves and then let us in.... More

We just finished a 10 hr kayak excursion out to Columbia Glacier ice field and it was an awesome trip. The boat ride out was 1.5 hr (& 1.5 hr back;) and Captain Scott was very nice and informative about Prince William Sound. Once we began our kayaking, our guide, Jarod, was outstanding, super nice and easy going. There were... More

We did the Valdez Glacier, Hiking and Kayaking trip on a wonderful, warm and sunny day in July. As we arrived after a short drive with the Anadyr van at the glacier lake, it was very windy as the cold air from the glaciers felt into the warm valley. The problem was that the inflatable kayaks are vulnerable for this... More
