Stopped here at this Glacier during my Tour of Alaska And The Yukon, it was a grey, drizzly morning, certainly not one of the better, more dramatic Glaciers but if your in the area worth stopping to get a couple of photos.

Stopped at the glacier on way out of town. Well worth the stop. We hiked up to the foot of the glacier. Easy and short hike. Impressive water cascading from the glacier.

I have seen many glaciers so I was not very impressed with it. But it is OK to see once, if you are in the area.

This is a great place to experience a receding glacier up close and personal. Lots of waterfalls, blue ice and rock freshly exposed by the melting ice.

This place is just breathtaking. Go off the trail and get up close. It is a nice little hike. Nice waterfalls. Easy hiking if you stay on the trail as it's basically right off the parking lot.

Any time you can see the glacier clearly is a god time. The weather in Thompson Pass can change quickly so it can be lousy 1 hour and be nice the next. Watch Valdez weather and if is clear there, take a drive up the pass... More
