Glacial action at glacial speed. We were told it is receding and we were shown how much it had changed in the last 25 years. Still, a great day on the water out of Valdez.

Driving along the valley into Valdez you can’t miss seeing the edge of the glacier and the waterfalls. If you are able to take a helicopter trip over the mountains to see the glacier from above you see just how vast this is. We went...More

We took a Stan Stephens Glacier Cruise to see this glacier (see separate review on Stan Stephens Glacier Cruise) and it was excellent. Although the day we went was pretty cool, very overcast with some light rain off and on it was well worth it....More

We took our boat over there to view the glacier. We had to work our way around icebergs and we couldn't get very close but what we could see was excellent. Worth the boat ride in there to see it.

We took the shorter Stan Stephens tour to this glacier. We had a great time and it is well worth visiting. Make sure to bring a warm jacket for outside the boat. Very large glacier wall with very thick ice to sail through to get...More

Very comfortable boat with coffee bar and lunch provided, we have seen them all; seals, whales, bold eagles, very good storyteller/female captain, we liked it very much!

Wow Columbia Glacier is just amazing, so beautiful and you can here the Glacier moving all the time. The ice around is interesting too.

otters, seals, whales (orcas) were all spotted on our boat tour from Whittier to Valdez. Great introduction to glacier viewing.

We took the Stan Stephens Columbia glacier cruise. The boat was comfortable with tables inside and open seating outside. They served a light lunch as we cruised among sea otters, whales, multiple sea birds, and glacial ice. I would highly recommend the trip.

We took a boat out to see the glacier in May. The bay still had many icebergs which limited how close we could get to the glacier. It is a beautiful trip with plenty of wildlife along the way
