It is close to the Royal Tulip, but now it's dogland between Hotel and Bay. So we took a taxi.

There is coralgarden like a labyrinth, with nearly every waterdeep, so you can see a lot of biotops.

Expensive

Same as hotel really, just there are places you access sea from beach rather than jetty. Shown to sunbed and tip was requested! Had just paid £15 to access this beach hey! Toilets clean but watch out for footbath you have to use to gain access! No one very helpful and location windy.

Coral growth is unreal

Great diving and superb coral growth on the reef in prestine condition. dived the reef with colona.com, can't recommend them high enough, from beginners to experienced divers, they're friendly and so helpful (and I'm a PADI instructor).

Nice dive

Did a dive here at the end of a liveaboard and enjoyed it, the main attraction was the chance to see a dugong but unfortunately not on my visit. That said it was a pleasent dive and not very challenging

So much to see at this site! Loved it!

We dove this site on our last day of a week long liveaboard trip to the South St. John's area with Emperor Divers. Our dive guide said this was like diving in an aquarium. He was so right! So much to see! So awesome!! Loved this site! Lots of boats but worth it anyway.

Even if you just want to snorkel this is a superb place to do it as you are guaranteed to see spectacular corals and fish, perhaps even a giant moray eel.

Very good snorkelling trip
Aug. 2018 • Family
Very nice spot, with loads of fish and a very nice reef. We did it after Marsa Mubarak and actually preferred this one. No turtles, but more fish and wildlife and greater water depth. Good for free diving. Nice and clear water.

Marsa Shoona near Phort Ghalib in the Marsa Alam region is perfectly fit for snorkelers. The waters at Marsa Shoona are sheltered and calm and therefore not very demanding. Marsa Shoona is a fine spot for snorkeling.

It comprises an attractive reef, home to very colorful fish. Moray eels, sea turtles, lionfish and giant crabs really feel at home here. When you are lucky, you will even spot a dugong here!

People who have snorkeled here call Marsa Shoona a ‘cool place’. The waters at Marsa Shoona are not deep, so snorkelers can see aquatic wildlife from the surface.

Eagle Wray!
Feb. 2018 • Friends
This dive would have been lovely if the viz was better (very windy today with rough seas) THE BOAT ALWAYS MANAGED TO MOOR UP IN THE BEST SHELTERED AREA OF THE REEF, but the Eagle Wray made up for that lovely

Trying with the kids to see the turtles :)

It is a wonderful bay, if you are lucky you will see the turtles, sea cow and dolphins. This is only when snorkeling , diving is another story a totally different world and amazing creatures.
