Don't know why anyone would say this beach is just ok. This beach is fantastic. No parking fee, no beach fee, no relentless beach vendors; beautiful sand, perfect water temperature, and shallowness of water extends far beyond the beach. Perfect place to appreciate a little R&R for an afternoon during your visit to Bora Bora without the high cost, which... More

To be honest, we found Bora Bora's beach scene a bit lacking. This beach was by far the best we found and was nothing special. It's nice for a short walk or swimming around and the Matira Beach Restaurant is a must.

Matira Beach is gorgeous & a public beach. The color of the water is so many shades of blue your eyes hurt! We took a taxi from the cruise tender pier for $5 USD each person (a bargain.) We found a gentleman renting a few padded loungers for $5 USD which were placed under the only trees lining the beach.... More

Ok, it's not the best beach I have ever seen but it's the best beach during our Tahiti-Mo'orea- Bora Bora trip.

Great location for sunset. It was minutes walk from our hotel, Maiti hotel. Couple of restaurants close by and reasonably priced.

Go here for a peaceful sunset! This is a public beach with no alcohol policy so don;t try sneaking in beer etc. the views themselves are toxicating enough!

I don't know why this beach gets such high ratings. Very misleading in my opinion. There is virtually nothing there and the beach is very small (maybe 10 meters of sand until the water). If you are staying at one of the resorts on the island, I can almost guarantee their beach will be far nicer. We just drove our... More

Thus is where the locals go to the beach. The only one on the main island. Water is crystal clear ! Bring your mask as you will see a lot of nice marine life!

This is right across the street from Intercontinental Le Moana. The beach is very nice, but it is a public beach. We snorkeled from the beach one day and say a small moray eel and a couple stingray. There is a pavilion here and we saw a big birthday party happening one day. We watched the sunset from here on... More

Highly recommend spending a day here - incredible white sand beach with crystal clear water with many shades of blue. Every visit looks like a postcard picture - loved it here went multiple times.
