We camped at the Byers Lake campground on our way to Fairbanks and on our way back. The lake is pristine, surrounding area beautifully forested, campground well-kept. LOVELY place to camp and explore. Bring your mosquito spray.

Five members of our group took the Byers Lake Nature Walk, and all thoroughly enjoyed it! Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Walking alone would have been a fine experience too, but we would have missed many of the plants our guide was able to...More

This is the ideal way to get outside for the casual hiker. Gorgeous views of the mountains, salmon spawning in the water, berries growing in the woods, just a lovely Alaskan experience.

This was a great spot for a easy hike. The terrain is fairly flat, with few obstacles. Lots of birds and small animals around to get a look at.

We had a nice day to hike around the lake. It is quiet. We saw salmon spawning, and we saw two pacific loons.

Good prices a friendly staff rented a canoe for the day but would recommend bringing an anchor if you a using it for fishing being solo and with wind on the lake can be challenging to keep yourself on the fish everything else they provided

We didn't have a lot of time to spend here, but I would go back and rent kayaks or go for a hike around the lake. Beautiful, and remarkably the water isn't that cold!

I'm sorry but you are stuck without a vehicle. The lake is quite a distance from the lodge. The lodge does have trails that go up Keusugi Ridge but I would be a long but beautiful hike to Byers Lake....
