This was a weird experience, the dog mushing is really just dogs running in front of a jeep, some dogs were fighting. The kids liked holding the puppies at the end, but the tour at the Native Heritage Center in Anchorage is better.

It was very interesting to see a typical cabin and hear about the great dogsled race and the dogs didn't seem unhappy but I found the dogsled pulling ( with a car) rather disappointing and the conditions for the dogs not so happy.

There are a lot of sled dog places you can visit, but none as personal as Sundog Kennels. We learned all about the Iditorod race, but also got to go on a 5 mi 4-wheeler ride being pulled by sled dogs. It was great!!!

Very informative about the Iditarod sled dogs and race. Very well run place, clean and friendly. Couldn't help but laugh as the dogs barked it up to be hooked up for their turn to pull the ATV. Pretty exciting to be pulled around by the...More

We learned a lot about the Iditarod and sled dogs. They have about 60 dogs, all barking and who want to be hooked up to pull the sled but once the team was chosen they all quieted down. Pretty amazing when you think about it--that...More

This wasn't the real sled dog experience we really wanted..(would have to have snow for that.) But the experience of a real Iditerod musher was outstanding. Watching the dogs and their interactions with the owners as they were hooked to the sled. While they were...More

We just loved the dogs, their eagerness to run, their cleanliness. Sixty dogs live there and there is no smell and I saw no dog poop! You get into a jeep and it is helping the dogs of course. But they just love to run....More

Kinda lame, but very interesting. Jerry does a nice job of explaining his craft and the sport. He has a large kennel and the dogs all seem happy and cared for. Amazing to see them want to run. Worth the visit - you get a...More

This was our son's favorite excursion on our recent cruise-land tour of Alaska. After reading the negative reviews, we were concerned, but we quickly discovered that those negative reviews were unjust. The owners were friendly but real; let's face it, they've chosen to live in...More
