Charming in its’ simplicity

This is a small village nestled up against the ancient Assos site. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the great Turkish cities, you can appreciate a way of life that must have existed for centuries. While you’re wondering Aristotle’s path, you can see why he’d have chosen this site for contemplation. Have a tea, take in the view and a deep breath of the Aegean.

Upper Town of Assos Hosting the Temple of Athena
Jul. 2018
Behramkale is a upper town of Assos. At the top of the hill, you can see the remnants of the ancient city such as the castle, the Temple of Athena in the open air museum. In addition to those, you can also see the mosque built in the Ottoman Era. Recently, Behramkale is a very cozy village with its tea gardens, cafés, souvenir shops, and authentic restaurants. After visiting the ancient town, it is a joy to walk on the street and make some shopping. Especially in summer seasons, it is also nice to drink cold blackberry juice that you can find almost every corner in Behramkale.

Gem of a place. Very quiet and peaceful. Tiny back streets to wander through and ruins and old harbour in walking distance.

Adorable village
Sep. 2017 • Couples
A great village with stone houses on top of the hill. The road up from the coast is narrow and made of cobble stones. No guard rail on the cliff side. There are the usual tourist trap stalls but you also can find unique artists in their workshops. Park on the side of the road don't try to go into the village there is little room to turn around. Loved walking the back streets of the village.

Rustic Village and friendly locals.

We love visiting rural villages when we visit Turkey. To experience the Real Turkey away from the resorts. It is good to see the village has kept its character and not become to commercialised.

Beautiful little village with narrow winding streets on a mountainside with great views of the coast below.

Day out family trip

Great place to unwind the energy and get your senses refreshed, lots of small cafes and gift shops, very beautifully decorated. To be brutally honest :) go with bigger car as t was not easy on the ruts and uneven road with pregnant stomach :) but beauty and quality of food compensated discomfort

Worth to see
May 2017 • Couples
Peaceful place with a stunning view. Not so much to see except wandering through the streets. 2-hours would be more than enough
