Nice place regulated by a hostile key- keeper
Jun. 2019 • Solo
Yes, the place is nice. But it is not open 24/7. When you arrive , the church is closed. The key holder does not speak English. There is no audio guide. The key keeper ,like a hawk ,pointed to the shop -like windows that actually contained the personal belongings of Saint Theresa. Then she came outside and opened the gate, the small church and the big one. I like to spend some time without being disturbed. The hawk was in a hurry.

Worth a visit
Jun. 2018 • Solo
This was the first of St Teresa’s reformed carmelite converts, simple to the point of austerity. There is a small but informative museum attached.

While exploring Avila, I passed by this convent, a simple unassuming building. Unfortunately, it was closed and I didn’t manage to visit its interior.

Beautiful building and a very informative museum. Lots to see and marvel at - or question - depending on your viewpoint!

Nice historical visit
Jan. 2016
The convento includes the church plus a chapel in the place where Saint Teresa of Avila has born, and is a place of religious devotion, but nice to be seen in a historical context also

simple museum and chapel in honour of St Teresa of Avila
Oct. 2015 • Friends
Simple place with possessions and chattels of the saint. The chapel is a delight too. A bit of peacefulness in the city

Saint Theresa first convent
Oct. 2015 • Couples
This is Saint Theresa first convent and we had Mass on the old chapel. To visit you have to ask the nuns.

First foundation of Saint Teresa,

Saint Teresa first foundation. It was her first convent she lived after leaving Minastery of Encarnation. To understand the figure of this saint, it is necessary to take the period she lived. This convent is most important in the history of the Carmel.

St Teresa orientated location.
Aug. 2015 • Family
A nice simple chapel with strong connections to stbTeresa. After all besides the walls this place is about St Teresa. It reeks of history.
