Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did two separate day hikes with a Black H’mong tour guide Bau (contact details: Lo Bau, +84 91 4677153). We trekked for 15-20km / day, through rice paddies, buffaloes, hilltops with stunning views and little townships of Red Dzao and Hmong people. We told Bau what we wanted (what type of trek, duration, length etc) and she tailored it to us perfectly at a very reasonable price . Her English is self taught and very good and she is also a good-natured, easy-going and fun companion. It is worth hiring a guide directly if you would like to support their communities as they get paid pittance when they are hired through tour companies (the tour companies make all the money). We highly recommend trekking around SaPa and with Bau particularly!

I would like to write in for Tam who was the one who helped me customise my trip to Sapa. She was patient and she is able to helped me customise my itinerary according to what i asked for. The trip itself was amazing. But i would like to highly recommend Tam who has helped me and guide me throughout my trip to Sapa.
My tourguide Sinh guided me through the Sapa trip. He is a great guide. Patient and friendly guide. He ensures our safety and followed our pace throughout the Mount Fansipan journey. Highly recommended him for a guide. He helped us took photos which we really appreciate.

We're just back from an excellent 3 day family trek with Bau around Sapa and the Muong Hua valley. We booked directly with Bau who's an independent local Black H'mong tour guide based on great prior Trip Advisor reviews of her treks.
Bau was brilliant from start to finish, She took the time to understand the kind of trek we wanted and how far we wanted to walk each day. She was charming, knowledgeable, patient and incredibly informative throughout all of our trip. Our trek included all meals and 2 nights in lovely homestays as well as a special visit to Bau's own home.
All of the family loved the trek and I would certainly recommend booking directly with Bau instead of through a hotel or tourist office as you'll get a much better value trek and the locals end up with more money in their pockets too.
We contacted Bau directly on WhatsApp +84 91 467 7153.

We were a group of 6 friends in our 50’s very keen to get out of the big cities of Vietnam and explore some countryside. Our guide My ( pronounced Me), who we requested due to her amazing reviews was an absolute delight. So energetic, enthusiastic and informative from the moment we met to saying our sad goodbyes. Sapa was surprisingly big and judging by the amount of restaurants and hotels must get extremely busy. Fortunately for us the dreaded Coronavirus had begun to go global so tourist numbers were way down. No problems with crowds.
It poured rain the afternoon we arrived after we’d completed a short 2 hour trek. It had cleared the following day in time for a 4 hour trek but it did make the conditions quite muddy and slippery. Thank goodness for the local tribe ladies who accompanied us and helped us out!! Stunning views of the countryside and local villages although a little seasonal fog drifted in and out. The food at the lunch stop was fresh, plentiful and delicious.
The hotel The Bamboo Sapa was fantastic and great value for money. Clean, spacious rooms, good amenities, perfect location, efficient service and great buffet breakfast.
Overall, a really enjoyable experience. You don’t need to be an experienced trekker but some level of fitness is helpful. Longish bus ride, the break could be shortened, especially on the return trip.

My boyfriend and I did a 3-day hiking trip with a Black H’mong tour guide Bau (contact details: Lo Bau, +84 91 4677153). We trekked for 8-15km / day, through rice paddies, buffaloes, waterfalls, hilltops with stunning views and little townships of Red Dzao and Hmong people. We told Bau what we wanted (off the beaten track, duration, length etc) and she tailored it to us perfectly at a very reasonable price. She arranged a homestay in the town Ta Van on our first day and on day 2 we even slept in her own house, having dinner with her family, making spring rolls,.. It was an incredible experience that we will never forget ! Furthermore, Bau is an amazing, fun guide, her English is self taught and very good! We contacted Pang to guide us on two day trips. We did two routes, in the first we took us through the rice paddies and walked until we reached his village, where we ate at home with his family and the second day we did a more mountain route, passing first through the central market of Sapa and stopping to eat at a restaurant halfway. At the end of both days Pang had arranged for a taxi to take us to the hotel (included in the fare).
We recommend contacting Pang to guide excursions through the Sapa Valley.

We love hiking and don’t typically use a guide but in Sapa we put that habit to the test and engaged an Hmong mountain guide called Pangdu (contact details: WhatsApp, +84 33 594 7402), Pang for short (pronounced 'Bung'). We have to admit that Pang was fabulous and spending time with her remains as memorable as the wonderful landscapes she introduced us to. Pang has made us totally rethink our opinion on guides and we would happily recommend her services to anyone.
Pang guided us for two days around Sapa and into the more remote areas of the region. She organised all the food and transport and everything went very smoothly. We rarely walked near busy roads and Pang worked hard to ensure that the rice fields, farmland, forests and small villages were the constants in our journey as we meandered the more natural trails of the landscape. For our second lunch we included a visit to her village and home where we very much enjoyed the not inconsiderable cooking skills of her husband and learnt about indigenous handicrafts. I can't imagine that we could have discovered Sapa more completely or enjoyably than with Pang.
Pang's English was exceptional and our conversations moved easily between detailed discussions on the plants and animals, her culture and lifestyle to lighthearted jokes and laughter. It was obvious that Pang was extremely proud and knowledgeable of Sapa and her ancient culture but, above all, it was her joy of life and her broad beaming smile that remains with us. Thankyou Pang for the amazing time we had on our visit to Sapa.

100% reccomend a tour with Pang!!
My partner and I were approached by Pang in the centre of Sapa and were immediately engaged with her, her English is well spoken and is a funny character. She told us about her tour and gave me her whatsapp number so we could contact her to book it in.
We booked a tour for 8am the next day but I ate a bad Bahn Mi and woke up sick that morning and had to reschedule the tour, Pang was very understanding and it wasn't a problem at all to do the tour the following day.
Pang met us at our hotel the following day and took us for an amazing walk from the busy Sapa city through the quiet rice fields of her Viallage, the beginning of the walk was very muddy and slippery so wear shoes/ clothes you are happy to get dirty, she wore gum boots if that gives you any indication, but it was a lot of fun going through the mud and watching people slip over.
Pang was a very good guide, very knowledgeable and kept us entertained throughout the walk and was happy to stop and take pictures for us whenever we wanted.
When we got to her village she took us to her house and we had lunch with her family which was some of the best food we ate in the whole 2 weeks we spent in Vietnam, a lot of other tourists were taken to the nearby restaurants to eat but Pang inviting us into her home made it all the more special and authentic. We were back in sapa by 1:30pm so if you are looking for a tour through the rice fields for half a day go with Pang!

Would highly recommend doing a trek with Pang! She picked us up from our hotel in Sapa and we did a half day trek to her local village. Her English was excellent and she taught us all about the area and her local village. We even tried some sticky rice from bamboo leaves! Pang also dressed us in traditional clothes that she made herself which was a great experience! Would highly recommend booking with Pang - you can contact her on WhatsApp on ‪+84 33 594 7402‬

We arrived in Sapa with the idea of doing a 2-3 day trek, but the time did not encourage us too much. It rained in the seas. In the end, against our idea, we did a 1-day trek with Pang, who showed up on the street. Although it is the most crowded walk, in the end alternative walks are being sought. Don't think you won't see tourists in this area because it's impossible. Although we did not rain that day if there was some fog, which did not allow us to enjoy 100% of the views, but still, walk among the rice fields, the views of the fields etc.
Following Pang's advice we bought some water boots in the central market and it was a total success.
I pass you the contact of Pang +84 33 594 7402

Hello, the truth is that I want to make the same trip and I wanted to ask you if you do not mind, how much it costs 3 days and 2 nights for 2 people.
Thank you for your comments.
