Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We love hiking and don’t typically use a guide but in Sapa we put that habit to the test and engaged an Hmong mountain guide called Pangdu (contact details: WhatsApp, +84 33 594 7402), Pang for short (pronounced 'Bung'). We have to admit that Pang was fabulous and spending time with her remains as memorable as the wonderful landscapes she introduced us to. Pang has made us totally rethink our opinion on guides and we would happily recommend her services to anyone.
Pang guided us for two days around Sapa and into the more remote areas of the region. She organised all the food and transport and everything went very smoothly. We rarely walked near busy roads and Pang worked hard to ensure that the rice fields, farmland, forests and small villages were the constants in our journey as we meandered the more natural trails of the landscape. For our second lunch we included a visit to her village and home where we very much enjoyed the not inconsiderable cooking skills of her husband and learnt about indigenous handicrafts. I can't imagine that we could have discovered Sapa more completely or enjoyably than with Pang.
Pang's English was exceptional and our conversations moved easily between detailed discussions on the plants and animals, her culture and lifestyle to lighthearted jokes and laughter. It was obvious that Pang was extremely proud and knowledgeable of Sapa and her ancient culture but, above all, it was her joy of life and her broad beaming smile that remains with us. Thankyou Pang for the amazing time we had on our visit to Sapa.

My boyfriend and I did a 3-day hiking trip with a Black H’mong tour guide Bau (contact details: Lo Bau, +84 91 4677153). We trekked for 8-15km / day, through rice paddies, buffaloes, waterfalls, hilltops with stunning views and little townships of Red Dzao and Hmong people. We told Bau what we wanted (off the beaten track, duration, length etc) and she tailored it to us perfectly at a very reasonable price. She arranged a homestay in the town Ta Van on our first day and on day 2 we even slept in her own house, having dinner with her family, making spring rolls,.. It was an incredible experience that we will never forget ! Furthermore, Bau is an amazing, fun guide, her English is self taught and very good! It is worth hiring a guide directly if you would like to support their communities as they get paid pittance when they are hired through tour companies (the tour companies make all the money). We highly recommend trekking around SaPa and with Bau particularly!

The first weekend after the end of the lockdown i went to Sa Pa to hike this beautiful mountain and i had the best time ever. First of all i had a great guide SU ( thank you again!) all for me as i was alone in my group. The mountain as well was desert as Fansipan peak (compared to high season). i highly recomend a two days hiking if you are not a super fit trekker, as the trail is not so easy, especially to do it in 10 hours, but is stunning and worth it!
Don't go with the cable car but support local communities and especially O'Chau Agency! You will not be disappointed!!

We were a group of 6 friends in our 50’s very keen to get out of the big cities of Vietnam and explore some countryside. Our guide My ( pronounced Me), who we requested due to her amazing reviews was an absolute delight. So energetic, enthusiastic and informative from the moment we met to saying our sad goodbyes. Sapa was surprisingly big and judging by the amount of restaurants and hotels must get extremely busy. Fortunately for us the dreaded Coronavirus had begun to go global so tourist numbers were way down. No problems with crowds.
It poured rain the afternoon we arrived after we’d completed a short 2 hour trek. It had cleared the following day in time for a 4 hour trek but it did make the conditions quite muddy and slippery. Thank goodness for the local tribe ladies who accompanied us and helped us out!! Stunning views of the countryside and local villages although a little seasonal fog drifted in and out. The food at the lunch stop was fresh, plentiful and delicious.
The hotel The Bamboo Sapa was fantastic and great value for money. Clean, spacious rooms, good amenities, perfect location, efficient service and great buffet breakfast.
Overall, a really enjoyable experience. You don’t need to be an experienced trekker but some level of fitness is helpful. Longish bus ride, the break could be shortened, especially on the return trip.

We had to cancel our trip due to the Coronovirus outbreak because we could be quarantine for 14 days if someone in the same plane were tested positive with the virus. We have a lot of small children and seniors at home. Therefore, we really did not want to take the risk and jeopardize the health of our family members.
Hong was extremely helpful and excellent in planning our trip with very reasonable price, constantly providing update via email, Skype and WhatsApp until wee hours. Eventually he assisted to cancel the trip and arrange refund because he truly understood the emergency situation with virus outbreak and wanted to provide 100+% customer satisfaction. With no doubt, i would definitely contact Hong for my next Vietnam trip.
I was really sad and dissapointed that we could not visit Vietnam, but knowing there is such a helpful and fantastic Traver Advisor, Hong, I can't wait to book my Vietnam trip soon.

Our experience, a week-long tour of Hanoi-Sapa-Halong Bay, was superb. Ms Hai did a great job to organised to cater on our request and budget. The accommodations were excellent and transportation are hassle free . Our tour guides, were knowledgeable on the places we been and very eager to share their knowledge on the rich culture of Vietnam and were charming companions, as well. We had the most remarkable couple tour with Trekking Sapa. Not only everything was perfect, but we felt, in every instance from booking this tour via Ms Hai, to our tour guides and the Halong Bay Peony cruise crew truly cared about us, and did their best to make this trip memorable. Two Thumbs Up and highly recommended tour company in Vietnam. Thank you so much!

From the beginning to end of our Hanoi - Mt Fansipan -Sapa Trip, we received excellent service by Tam from Trekking Sapa. During the planning stage, she was very fast and consistent with her replies. When we arrived in Hanoi, she personally met us for dinner and dessert before sending us to the train station. She made us feel very safe & secure by answering all our queries promptly and also kept in touch via WhatsApp daily throughout our climb until our departure back to Singapore. The transport and guides, especially Thom were excellent. We were astonished by the foggy poetic elegance of Mt Fansipan and climbing together as a team of friends forged us some glowing undying memories! 😃

A very pleasant experience with Trekking Sapa, Luong Hong (trip coordinator) and Phinh (tour guide).
Luong Hong had been very responsive and flexible to accommodate my requests. My trip was booked within a short notice, and still he managed to secure a private cabin for the train rides. He even personally picked us up at the hotel to send us off to the sleeper train.
Phinh had been an amazing tour guide. Her outspoken bubbly personality with her great command of english and good knowledge of the places we've trekked made a great impact to the trip.
The trekking routes we took had a mixture of intensities, and the few surprises along the way added much fun to the trek. We had to skirt around the rice terrace, climbed over some wired fences and walked through a barricaded vegetable farm.
The meals were really good! Although we had almost the same types of dishes (spring roll, stir fried pork and chicken, vegetables) everyday but we loved it. We had it for every meal.
The homestay and hotel were really pleasant too. They have exceeded my expectation. Although just to feedback that there were cockroaches in the hotel room - maybe you can inform Bamboo Hotel about it.
Overall an enjoyable and memorable experience! Everything happened smoothly without any hiccups or hassle. Will definitely return.

I would like to thank three people, who had helped me in my journey to the Rooftop of Indochina - Mount Fansipan. They are Miss Tam (Travel Coordinator), Mr. He, a native hiking guide and a local coordinator in Sapa, whose name I've forgotten.
We booked a 2-days 1-night trip to hike the Fansipan mountain. Mr. He and Mr. Meng (the porter) provided us with excellent services. They were on time when picking us up from our hotel in Sapa, they served us large servings of tasty food, and they are very accommodating. They stopped when we were tired and whenever it is time for prayer. Good mannered, excellent English, and polite, I could have not chosen a better team to hike with.
The local guide in Sapa is a good planner. Despite a sudden change in plan, he ensured that the transport was ready when we arrived back in Sapa via the cable car. We were supposed to lunch at the base camp that afternoon. Since we took the cable car, that lunch was not refundable. The local guide still took us to lunch at one of the restaurants in Sapa. What an excellent and honest bloke he is!
Ms. Tam is just an excellent coordinator. We communicated via email and WhatsApp. She gave clear information and reply most promptly to our inquiries and requests. She was also concerned about us that she organized a free transport to and fro Lao Cai - Sapa. The transport was a van, for only 2 of us! That is already luxury and we are very thankful for that.
She was able to get a good price for Deluxe Private Cabin on King's Express to and fro Sapa-Hanoi. We liked the cabin and enjoyed the experience very much.
Overall we like this Company. Good service and trustworthy.

Thank you for your comments.
