The view is so beautiful. This is the only beautiful place in China where it isn't crowded. You can have a leisure walking along the Haihe River, enjoying the cultural view peacefully with a safety feeling. The area is on the left turn after you get out from Ancient Cultural Street (Gu Wen Hua Jie).

My home is just around the river side and for the past 10 years I can see the change take placed along side the river. Now it just become more and more attractive and beauty. Worth to go for a 1 to 2 hours walk to observe the different styles of buildings.

Every time I visit the city, I don't want to miss an opportunity to stroll in the square. It's a place to relax and also to see changes of the metropolitan area. It extends from the square by the Tianjin Railway Station to the Ferry Wheel, Eye of Tianjin.

Sitting in a cab driving along the Haihe River, I enjoyed the beautiful bridges and the newly built or recently renovated houses by the banks of the river. The square was clean, spacious, free of dusts, and had a much less commercialized atmosphere. To me, this is also a place to escape the dusty streets and the hovering smog in the inner city to inhale freely. i did stop at an outdoor bar for a beer. However, do stay away from routes going below the bridges to avoid the stingy smell of urine.

To the city dwellers, this square is what they're proud of, and to the city developers this is a place to showcase the immense beauty of the city. Hope when the weather permits the square management team organize more outdoor cultural events, such as free concerts, photo/artwork exhibition, and Haihe cultural festival, to increase its cultural atmosphere. Might even consider to add some licensed snack stands and public restrooms for the convenience of its visitors.

If you are taking the bullet train from Beijing, after exiting the billet train station, this place will be right ahead of you. Some interesting structures around but when I was there, the air pollution was pretty bad thus did not managed to take some nice pictures! A good short getaway from Beijing!

Nice view with old buildings along Haihe river. It was great to walk along in the Sunny day. Due to the pollution, the smell from the river was unpleasant.

This place looks so different in the day and at night. It is definitely worth to take a stroll in the area at night as the view is just so beautiful. There is mixed of old and new buildings along the river and you will find yourself appreciating the beauty. How could 1 city integrate old and new culture in such a modern city.

After arriving from Beijing and exiting the train station, Haihe Cultural square is the first thing you will see! Nice by day, but quite more impressive by night! Go there on a sunday, as Tianjin's air can be quite polluted, but factories seem to be working at a lower regime then.

One has to go here during the night to get a feel of the colour and the sights. It becomes a totally different place when the lights come on. Try to stroll around and eat from small stalls. A boat ride is also available but that only covers the periphery.
