Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wanted something different to do, so after the Duck tours, we took the Silver line to Rotary Beach stop and enjoyed searching for starfish and other creatures. Ask your bus driver where the pick up is before getting off! It will cost $2 per person both ways!

This beach is not far from town, 3 miles or so, and has amazing views. Great beach area for sun bathing, picnicking, and beachcombing. Kids love the pool for swimming and wading! Seems like I've seen Killer Whales passing closer to this beach than anywhere else in town too!

Rotary Beach is a quiet, little beach where it is perfect to relax and get away from it all. We enjoyed walking and looking for shells and interesting pieces of drift wood while in Ketchikan. We actually missed it and drove by the first time. You have to be looking for it as the parking area is small compared to what I am used to at a beach and you have to walk down to get to the beach area.

This is an excellent public beach a park south of downtown Ketchikan. easy to get close to the water and it has great views of the mountains and water. A little too far south for walking from a cruise ship. The park is maintained by volunteers for the local city Rotary clubs. It has bathroom and parking and is a favorite for locals.

The perfect spot for a pinic or campfire with plenty of parking on the road and public bathrooms. Just a short drive south from the town of Ketchikan.

We were visiting Ketchikan for the second time and wanted to stray way from the more touristy activities this time. We asked the locals where they would recommend going and Rotary Beach was suggested, so we got a taxi to take us there. It wasn't very expensive, maybe $6 to get from the cruise port to the beach.
It was low tide when we visited so we were able to walk out pretty far on the rocks and sand bars. We looked at the tide pools and saw a lot of star fish and neat plants/rocks. Being from Florida, we were so amazed to be at a BEACH in Alaska. We spent at least an hour walking around, skipping rocks, and exploring the aquatic life. Would definitely recommend for families with kids or nature lovers.

Very nice beach. Also has a bathroom for when you are on a group tour. Steep incline but I did it with a walker.

Rotary Beach, actually a group of beach stops on the south side of Ketchikan, are an interesting diversion from the tourist traps. Close to town. Most interesting at low tide when you can check out the tide pools

Just such a cool place to stop and see the wildlife. Very glad our guide took us here, and we could have spent a lot more time at this stop.

Great place to go spend some time on the water. Especially during low tides. It fun to look for various undersea creatures when the tide is out

If our cruise ship docks in town, is there public transportation or taxis to this beach?
