*Misty Fjords & Wilderness Explorer - 4.5 hour Day Tour*

Explore Misty Fjords, one of nature's most spectacular creations, while cruising in luxury aboard one of the fastest sightseeing vessels in Alaska. You'll stop to view an active bald eagle's nest, a Tlingit pictograph, and New Eddystone Rock; an immense volcanic spire rising from the emerald sea. Delight in the unhurried exploration of Rudyerd Bay and learn the natural history of the fjords while gliding quietly near 3,000-foot vertical cliffs and glistening waterfalls.

What a comfortable and friendly tour operation! The naturalist on board did a very good job of explaining what you were seeing and there was a representative of the Tlingit tribe on board to give you a little info on their culture. The scenery is beautiful and the crew did their best to make the views as nice as possible.... More

WOW - a wonderful catamaran tour of the Misty Fjords. Total distance was around 90 miles or more and the cat can really move out! Saw some whales on the way out. The Misty Fjord lived up to the billing. It was cloudy, overcast and misting which made the sights outstanding. This is definitely a great tour for coastal scenery.... More

We had originally booked a Misty Fjords floatplane and boat tour through our cruise ship. First the boat part got cancelled, so we decided to do only the floatplane. Then the floatplane got cancelled so we were left with the option of the boat only or trying to pick something else. We decided to go with the boat tour and... More

had a great afternoon tour out of Ketchikan to the Misty Fjords...Allen Marine crew did a great job and had superb weather which, for September, is apparently rare...the vistas are spectacular, and the crew very knowledgeable and willing to point out all points of interest...a great time, and highly recommended...

This is a rather long tour as it takes about 2 hours to get to Misty Fjords. We saw many islands along the way. We had a great crew who explained what we were looking at. There aren't a lot of photo ops as the scenery is very repetitive. After a while all islands and all waterfalls looked alike to... More

The fjords are beautiful, but the outing consumes the entire time in port with much more time travelling to the fjords than enjoying them. Several attempts to sell food, drinks, crafts, books, etc. pitched while on the boat. Many passengers dozed off on the way back. Anticipate a floatplane trip or other excursion would be higher yield.

The captain and crew were friendly and helpful. The naturalist who narrated the tour did an excellent job and a native Alaskan was aboard to tell us about her people. They even fed us clam chowder and snacks. It was a very pleasant experience. They defintely rate five stars! I only give this three stars because the destination wasn't worth... More

This was a tour booked through our cruise ship and we were not disappointed. The crew and the naturalist were awesome. We had unusually good weather and felt very fortunate. Enjoyed the commentary including a short talk by a local native woman. Sure you can see the Misty Fjords by air but we feel like we would got the best... More

We had a great time and saw a variety of wildlife, including several orcas and porpoises. The tasting samples were also a nice touch. Thank you for a great experience.

I can definitely recommend this as a way to see Misty Fjords. The everyone on board was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I especially enjoyed our Native Alaskan interpreter who talked about his personal experiences. They really take care of you, offering free hot beverages, samples of some Alaskan foods, use of binoculars, and a free map. The... More
