This museum is well put together and would be great for kids. The displays are nicely done but there is not much depth to them. However, the films are certainly more informative. It doesn't take long to go through unless you watch the movies. That...More

After touring the museum part of the Discovery Center, we enjoyed watching a couple of films about how Alaskan salmon play in the lives of the fishermen. Very interesting and relaxing. We forgot our senior pass but it only cost five dollars each to get...More

I started by watching a movie about the gold rush. They have a changing selection of films. The walkthrough was interesting and one could spend as much or little time that one wished.

$5 charge unless you have the National Park Senior Pass. Nice rest rooms and we enjoyed several short movies about Tongass. The exhibits were very nice. It doesn't take long to go through unless you watch the movies. They have a Junior Ranger program that...More

This centre is a real education about the Tongass National Park, one of the most significant in North America. It focuses particularly on human interactions with nature and how indigenous Americans lived in harmony with their environment. Whoever conceived of the displays in the centre...More

A beautiful center focused on the Tongas National Forest. Very interesting displays, excellent and friendly staff. They honor your park senior pass which saves you about $10. A worthwhile place to spend a few hours if you are not into a lumberjack show.

This stop was very informative for learning about the surrounding forest and ancient history of the Ketchikan area. Enjoyed learning about how the early people lived and survived this harsh climate. The movies that played continuously were interesting and informative on a variety of topics.
