Southeast Exposure Ketchikan - Kayaking, Zipline & Zodiac Boat Tours....

Southeast Exposure Ketchikan - Kayaking, Zipline & Zodiac Boat Tours.

Welcome to Southeast Exposure. We started taking Kayaking Tours in 1986 from our home in downtown Ketchikan. Kayaks soon took over the yard. In 2005 we moved our operation north to beautiful Clover Pass, three miles from the end of the road. The protected waters here are dotted with evergreen islands.

To realize our dream of having a zipline course and move the kayak tours away from the floatplanes, large boats, wind and the noise of the waters of downtown, we purchased an estate and started to renovate and add. We built a zipline course with 8 lines in the big cedars and installed transition elements as well as a zipline that zooms down to an ocean platform. We also installed an optional climbing wall with stairs to climb to the top platform. We support our Tatoosh Islands and Misty Fiords kayak tours with three vessels: Two 24’ Rigid Hulled inflatables (RIBs) and a 24’ landing craft. Our Zodiac Boatman Tour features three custom built 14’ rigid hulled boats. The kayak fleet would never fit anywhere in our two previous locations.

What will you see out here in Clover Pass? Islands ringed by protected waters Seals, sea lions, eagles, intertidal life, jumping salmon, deer and possibly orcas on the hunt and transiting humpback whales.

I would definitely recommend this kayaking trip. Our guide was super friendly and made sure everyone was safe during the excursion! The only negative present that was no fault to the company was with the other boats within the area. They were speeding through the no wake zone which created a lot of waves. But other than that, this tour... More

What a great day! Our family of 5 experienced a fantastic kayak tour around Eagle Island with our guide Spencer. He was so engaging and knowledgeable about all that we saw. He pointed out some bald eagles and taught us things about eagles that we never knew. There were reports of feeding whales, but we just missed them. However, we... More

Went off the Princess cruise and had a great time; you're bussed from the pier to the 'adventure center.' The tour guides on the bus give you info about Ketchikan while driving through. Then a small group of us got in the kayaks with Abby, who was great! Good overview on safety and staying dry while kayaking, then off we... More

I have to admit I was a little uneasy when I found out I'd be driving one of these little zodiacs, but what a BLAST! It was totally awesome. We got to see some great scenery and wildlife. It probably was the highlight of our Alaskan shore excursions. Our son was so excited, he couldn't sit still. Billy was by... More

We selected this excursion as part of our Cruise with Holland America. Our guides were Autumn and Billy - they were very conscientious about safety, informative about the area and wildlife, and had a good sense of humor. This excursion exceeded our expectations.

One of the best kayaking experiences in Alaska. Our guide, Sasha, was patient, experienced, knowledgeable. Great for families and just a short trip from the main downtown area. Nesting bald eagles and Seal Bay - Jumping Salmon. Best of all, safety first and no mishaps.

Picked up on pier in a tour bus for a 30 minute ride to the kayak center site. Signed waivers and used the bathrooms prior to climbing into a large inflatable rubber boat with 12 other guests. The "captain" and the "mate" did not introduce themselves, which seemed a little odd because their names would come into play later on.... More

Our group enjoyed a terrific bike ride with Julieanne. Seven of us from the cruise ship arrived by small bus to the bike and kayak center. We were couples, singles of all ages (likely between ages of 25-67) We were fitted with helmets and bicycles and then Julieanne gave a safety brief and shared the planned ride and hike. The... More
