Good for browsing in the shops
A short walk from where the cruise ships dock. This used to be where the brothels were located in yester year. Now it is a shopping destination with a variety of gift shops set on a wooden broad walk. Have a look in the water below as you may well see some wild life.

    Cute town, fun walk
My family & I decided against an organized excursion while visiting Ketchikan and chose instead to walk the town and enjoy a small hike. So glad we did! We did the Rainbird Trail, followed by a couple self guided walks around town- the Salmon Walk along Creek Street being one. Such fun watching the salmon swim against the current and the sea lions speed by and play with each other in the larger pools. We were lucky to have had great weather, which contributed to the enjoyment of our leisure stroll through this cute town!!

NICE EXPERIENCE OFF THE CRUISE SHIP
When you get off ship just wander around.most excursions are. A big rip off as the town is very tiny and can walk around it all if half day. Nice area of town and very quaint. To many shops and many ships in port

Creek Street, a great place to meet local merchants and artist
Lovely picturesque street filled with many shops filled with both local artist and commercial merchandise. Take your time and get to know some of the small business owners and craftsman. You will not be disappointed and the stories they tell and the pictures of everyday life are amazing. If you are luck enough to be here when the salmon are spawning, (July/ August) you can watch and film them swimming in the creek river. If the tide is in the seals will also be present as they enjoy eating salmon. FYI: your lucky you may even see a bear near the boardwalk. Lot's of history here in addition to the people. stories and shopping.

    Best part of Ketchikan
Definitely one of the coolest places to see in Ketchikan. Historic, cute restored old buildings, with a beautiful river running through it. Cute shops great place to get souvenirs.

    A Must Do!
Amazing and unique exerience! It was raining pretty good that day and the sound of the rain on the water was extraordinary. The fish in the "creek" were plentiful and fun to watch jump out of the water for food. There was even a seal in the water that day. The buildings built over the water are so unique and gorgeous. I got great feelings being there and would highly recommend a visit. Look forward to going again.

A Must See Spot but Timing is Everything
This is a place you have to see in Ketchikan even though it is quite commercial and can be very busy. We were on a small expedition cruise but when we were in Ketchikan there were 4 other large cruise ships in port and our first visit mid-morning was very crowded - so much so that I found it a not so great experience. However we did return late in the afternoon shortly before we had to go back to the ship and the crowds were gone (the large ship cruisers had to get back aboard early I guess) and it was wonderful and quiet. Sure it is a bunch of shops and restaurants but the views along the creek are beautiful and some of the shops are interesting. Definitely worth a visit just try to time your visit to avoid the big ship crowds if you can

    Cute and fun!
Creek street was very charming and pretty to walk alongside. Was quite packed with people though. Great little shops and stores to poke into. We did the whole thing in about 20 minutes then walked to the lumberjack show.

    A very good walking tour
We were not too thrilled with Ketchikan. Felt it was too touristy and rougher than some of the other ports. A lot of stores seem to repeat themselves like they are owned by the same person. MY opinion. A But what was really good was walking around certain areas of town, namely Creek street. The buildings over the water, the history written on some buildings and poles. Lots to look at and read. A nice walk, you could easily go without a guide of any kind here.

Excellent area but very crowded with 5 cruise ships in port at the same time. The experience is still worth the crowded conditions, especially the views of the creek and the artisan shops that make your shopping experience truly "made in Alaska "

The Creek Street area includes a number of well-preserved or restored old businesses and homes, with an interesting history. It is overrun with tourists when cruise ships dock, but we went early and had a good time before the hordes arrived. We didn't expect to buy anything, but found some shops with high-quality locally made crafts so ended up stimulating the local economy a bit.

This is a very small old street, originally the red light district, and has been preserved / restored as a tourist attraction. It's interesting if you avoid the many tourist shops and fascinating to see the salmon in such abundance. It absolutely bucketed with rain when we visited, and was pretty chilly too, but we were glad we bothered

This is a pier that has houses on it built about a main creek on the east side of Ketchikan. It originally was the home of the "red light' district. There are two entrances- one on the north end and one on the south.

This is a nice place to walk around and very near the cruise docks. There are signs with good information about the history of the area as well as quaint shops to visit. You can also tour Dolly's (a former brothel).

Such a naughty history but It shows women as good business people. They may have been ladies of the night but they all owned their own homes on Creek St. Would love to see it when Salmon are running later in the year.

Went for a wander round Ketchikan and went for a coffee next to creek street. The street has plenty of souvenir shops for the tourists. We followed the boardwalk right up to the salmon ladder, pity there were no salmon in the river when we visited but must be an incredible sight when they run. Ketchikan is beautiful little town that is steeped in history and not to be missed.

Ketchikan is a great walking opportunity and Creek Street is a good starting point. Unfortunately we were too early for the salmon run but having experienced previously it didn’t detract from the marvelous town landscapes.

We walked from the cruise ship to here. About 10 minutes walk. It's a series of little shops that are set along a creek. The shops are nothing special but I can say we went there. Good picture opportunity.

Easily accessible from the cruise port a lovely snapshot of history with most of the house turned into souvenir shops .Lots of signs along the way to explain the history so you do t need a guide really . No salmon on this trip but I can imagine it would be fab to watch this from here .Follow the salmon walk all the way around and this will take you back to town.
