It is a 45-60 min hike over a very easy trail that is even considered handicapped accessible. If you time it right, you can see the salmon jumping up the nice beautiful falls and may be lucky enough to see some bears feeding on the salmon. I would carry bear spray but there is very little chance of encountering bears... More

This is a very easy short hike thru the woods to Russian River Falls. The falls are not very tall but the raging clear water is still very impressive. You finish the hike at a pair of wooden platforms perched above the river which makes it very safe to view bears chasing the salmon below. If its your lucky day... More

First impression, lots of bugs! Bring bug spray! Hike was not bad though, some parts were strenuous for our age.I think the hike was a bit farther than the sign said because when we got back my tracker said 6.74 miles. It was well worth the hike once we had arrived! Lots of salmon to watch but no bear! Signs of bear... More

We were staying in the area at a different camp site but decided to come in and hike to the waterfalls on the trail. Very nice place. The weather was good so we walked all the way from the main entrance instead of the trailhead. When we arrived the gate staff recognized we were military and let us park in... More

My husband and I took this easy 2.3 mile hike to Russian River Falls and enjoyed it so much! The views were awesome! We even saw salmon pooled at the bottom! It was a gorgeous hike and not difficult at all. While in the area we took the Russian river ferry across to a great fishing spot!

I have hiked this trail a few times. Watch out for bears. Keep plenty of fresh water with you and even pack a light lunch. It is so worth the visit to the falls.

Beautiful river, Russian River. Competitive place for fishing in summertime. Fisherman stand nearly shoulder to shoulder to catch fish here. Sometimes a bear shows up, in that case you only need to be able to outrun your fishing buddy and you'll probably be fine. Traffic and Parking seems to be more dangerous than the area wildlife, so please use caution... More
