Open since 1967, our store is a locally-owned, Alaska Native family business in the heart of Downtown Juneau. There are two levels filled with beautiful handmade art from around the state of Alaska, much of it being made in the store. Native artists work on their art upstairs where visitors can watch and ask questions of them. We have everything from high-end art to more inexpensive items. We cater to every person, and love to share our knowledge!

This is the place for native art, drums, rattles, carvings, and all kinds of native collectibles. I bought a beautiful Sun drum and a hand carved rattle. Erica couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. She provided bios of the artists and promised to have the artist sign my piece. Stopping here is like stopping at a museum, but more... More

As an Alaskan I can attest to the authenticity of the artwork and crafts. Over the last 15 years I have purchased many ivory and baleen pieces here. Alana has worked at the store for 18 years and is knowledgeable and friendly.

Forget many of the shops that cruise ships push their guests toward, this shop is the real thing. Family-owned and operated, this is the place to get Native items as well as other items to commemorate your Alaskan vacation. After we commented on one of the masks, the man helping us shyly told us he had carved it. His brother,... More

I'm a big fan of the Trading Post. I live locally and do a lot of gift shopping here. I also take all of my out of town guests here to shop for themselves and gifts to take back home. They have an unbelievable selection of Alaskan art, carvings, jewelry, scarves, - and then some. One of the Tripp boys... More
